Although early criticism of the new Cirque du Soleil show Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour is far from unanimous, the show will provide fans with the opportunity to get their hands on a new MJ album.
Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour premiered yesterday, October 2, in Montreal. Similar to their Love show on the Beatles, Cirque du Soleil will release on album containing the soundtrack for the show on November 21.
Immortal is an album of reworked material from the pop singer, as well as previously-unheard material. Tracks include his biggest hits like Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’, Beat It, Billie Jean, and a medley of Jackson 5 songs. The release is available as a single CD or a deluxe 2-CD set.
Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour will travel North America,and shows are schedule up to July 21, 2012. After touring North America, the show will continue on to Europe and the rest of the world. When it leaves North America, a resident show – which will be more theatrical in nature – will open in early 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
