Another Project for Catherine Hardwicke

Catherine Hardwicke will be directing a new project for Summit Entertainment.

After directing Twilight for Summit Entertainment, Catherine Hardwick will direct a new film for the production company.

This time, it will be If I Stay, a film based on the novel of the same name by Gayle Forman, which will be published this spring.

Summit’s president, Erik Feig, said that he quickly thought of the director to head the project, since she knows how to perfectly capture the story’s emotion, passion and grace.

The film follows the life of Mia, a talented classical musician, and her boyfriend Adam, a rock star in the making. Torn between her art and her love life, Mia will have to choose between life and death after being involved in a car accident with her family in Oregon.

Director Catherine Hardwicke also announced recently that she would be directing the film Maximum Ride, opening in 2010.
