Arcade Fire and Justin Bieber up for MuchMusic awards

MuchMusic Video Awards to honor Canadian and international artists this June.

Arcade Fire, Justin Bieber, Drake and Avril Lavigne are the hometown heroes among the big names who scored multiple nominations for the Canadian MuchMusic Video Awards next month, reports Spinner.

The four acts go up against newcomers Down With Webster for the fan-chosen UR FAVE Artist award. They’ll also face off against pop singer Fefe Dobson for international video of the year by a Canadian.

On the worldwide stage, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Kanye West are among the ten individual nominees for international video of the year, while The Black Eyed Peas, The Black Keys, and White Lies are some of the colorful group nominees for international video of the year.

Gaga, Lavigne, Bruno Mars, the Black Keys, and City and Colour are confirmed to perform at the ceremony, held June 19 in Toronto. Teen star Selena Gomez — nominated for international video of the year for her single A Year Without Rain — will host the event.
