Arcade Fire brings the show to Sherbrooke

The city will host two shows by the famed Montreal group.

Good news for fans of the internationally acclaimed group from Montreal, Arcade Fire. They just announced two shows at the Granada Theatre in Sherbrooke on June 7 and 8.

This surprise visit was announced just days before the actual date. Fans of the indie rockers will get a chance to hear songs off their new album, The Suburbs.

The band is hitting the road this summer for some concerts in Canada and Europe. They will play at the Festival d’été de Québec on July 12, the Ottawa BluesFest on July 13 and headline the first day of the Osheaga Festival at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal on July 31.

The Suburbs is the third studio album by Arcade Fire. It will be released on August 3. Already, its first two singles, The Suburbs and Month of May, have gotten good press.

Tickets for the Sherbrooke shows go on sale (June 1) today at noon. There are not many tickets and those available will likely be grabbed fast. The Sylvio-Lachartié hall at the Granada Theatre holds a maximum of only 1,200 people.
