Arcade Fire to release deluxe edition of The Suburbs

Extended version will include two new songs from the Grammy-winning band.

This June, Canadian indie band Arcade Fire are rereleasing their Grammy award-winning album, The Suburbs, in a deluxe edition which includes two new songs, reports Gibson.

According to BBC Radio 1 DJ Zan Lowe, the new edition, due out June 27, will include the previously-unreleased bonus tracks Speaking in Tongues and Culture War.

The deluxe edition is also rumored to come with a DVD including a documentary on the making of the album and a copy of the Spike Jonze-directed short film, Scenes from the Suburbs.

The short film made its debut at the Berlin International Film Festival in February and received rave reviews after its screening at SXSW last month.

"In Scenes From The Suburbs, Spike Jonze expands the music video into a film without abandoning the structure… The future has become reality. And the threat lies in the proximity of the military," explained the film festival website.

"We didn’t have the ability to do a feature-length, but since we always make feature-length things in the musical world, we wanted to try to give it the feel of a feature, but also have it be a little more disparate structurally," noted band member Will Butler.
