Arctic Monkeys stream new album ahead of release

Suck It and See is now streaming online.

Although their new album, Suck It and See, isn’t due to hit shelves for another week, English indie rockers Arctic Monkeys are already streaming the new tracks through Soundcloud, reports Consequence of Sound.

Produced by James Ford, Suck It and See is the fourth studio album from the psychedelic rockers, scheduled for official release on June 7.

The debut single Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair was first released as a digital download on April 12 and peaked at number four on the UK Indie Singles Chart. In the U.K., the single was also released as a limited-edition vinyl for Record Store Day on April 16 with another album track, Brick by Brick, on the B-side.

All twelve tracks are currently freely available online – and legally. Streaming a full album before its official release is a new tactic that is becoming increasingly popular with record labels these days as they try to bolster flagging album sales and rampant piracy.
