Arctic Monkeys Top Brit Awards

The group  Arctic Monkeys was the big winner at the Brit Awards in London yesterday.

The four-man group won the awards for Best Album (Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not), and Best Group.  The group was not present to accept the awards.

Another popular group, The Killers, from Las Vegas, United States, also won two awards, for Best International group, and Best International album.

The writer/composer/singer, James Morrison, won for Best Male British Singer, while Amy Winehouse won for Best Female Singer.

The award for Best British Song was voted by the public, and was a song by Take That (Patience).

Oasis was given a Brit Award for their exceptional contribution to the world of music.
