Arquette airs problems on Stern’s radio show

David Arquette discusses his marital problems on Howard Stern’s radio program.

Yesterday (October 12) it was announced Courteney Cox, 46, and David Arquette, 39, were separating after 11 years of marriage. Arquette, upset, called into Howard Stern’s show on Sirius radio and talked about the separation, according to People.

The actor said Cox had grown tired of his immaturity and that they hadn’t had sex in months.

“She says that to me: ‘I don’t wanna be your mother anymore,’ I appreciated that. I respected that. I’ve been going to therapy. I’m trying to grow up,” said Arquette.

While airing the couple’s private business on public radio, he described Cox as his best friend: "She’s the greatest woman I’ve ever met … Now, yes, she’s got her issues. She tries to take on everybody’s problem. She tries to be the mother to everyone – that’s why she doesn’t want to be the mother to me anymore.”

After 11 years of marriage, the Hollywood pair said in a statement this week that they have “agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time.” They have a 6-year-old daughter, Coco.
