Newlyweds Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz have confirmed that their are awaiting the birth of their first child, reports People.
The couple wrote on their Web site, "While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child. This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family."
Simpson and Wentz were married in Los Angeles on May 17. The singer has decided to change her name to Ashlee Wentz to honour her husband, and also because she is into tradition. However, for professional purposes, she will use the name Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.
