Starpulse reports that actress Ashley Judd is talking about her difficult childhood in her first autobiography.
She has suffered from depression since childhood. Her mother, singer Naomi Judd, was often gone for long periods of time as she toured around the world.
When she got older, Judd decided to devote time to charity, becoming a YouthAIDS global ambassador which works to educate and prevent AIDS among youth. She has also campaigned for women’s rights.
The actress wanted to write her story and talk about how her life experience drew her to the cause of abandonned women and children in poor countries. She says, "By sharing my own story along with those of the beautiful and resilient people I’ve met in the most desperate places, I want to show how the change we seek in the world must start within us."
