According to American sources, Chris Cornell, singer of Audioslave, has decided to go solo, and therefore, part ways with the group.
Cornell had formed the group with three members of Rage Against the Machine. They had different musical opinions, and did not get along very well.
Although Audioslave did three albums, the lead singer remembers problems that were present from the onset.
There have been rumours of the band splitting for some time. It was an amicable split.
Cornell, 42, had great success when he was part of the group Soundgarden. His second solo album, Carry On, will be released on May 1 under the label, Surestone/Interscope.
