The story of Michael Oher and the Tuohy family, depicted in the 2009 film The Blind Side and starring Sandra Bullock, has made headlines in recent days as the former NFL star accuses his adoptive family of taking financial advantage of him.

But, while Michael Oher claims that the parents who were supposed to have adopted him would have instead taken advantage of him and his success via a guardianship contract, the family counters by claiming that Oher would have instead tried to extort $15 million from them just before these allegations were made public!
«The idea that the family ever sought to profit off Mr. Oher is not only offensive, it is transparently ridiculous.» says the lawyer representing the Tuohys.
«In reality, the Tuohys opened their home to Mr. Oher, offered him structure, support and, most of all, unconditional love. They have consistently treated him like a son and one of their three children. His response was to threaten them, including saying that he would plant a negative story about them in the press unless they paid him $15 million.» say the Tuohy’s lawyers.

According to Page Six, a source close to Bullock says she is absolutely distraught by the allegations and heartbroken.
