Lost at sea and saved by a ketchup bottle

A 47-year-old man, Elvis Francois, was adrift on the Caribbean Sea for 24 days, and for food/survival, he relied on a bottle of ketchup.

François was found 120 nautical miles northwest of Puerto Bolívar, on the Colombian side, thanks to the word “help” that he had engraved on the hull of his sailboat. It was an airplane pilot who saw the word “help”, and it was from this that he was rescued.

“I had no food. There was only a bottle of ketchup that was on the boat, garlic powder and Maggi (bouillon cubes), so I mixed it with water!” said Elvis Francois.

The reason he got out at sea was because he was doing repairs on the boat when it was suddenly washed away by bad weather. Lacking navigational skills, he was unable to return to shore.

“Twenty-four days – no land, no one to talk to. You don’t know what to do, you don’t know where you are. It was tough. At some point, I lose hope. I think about my family,” added Elvis François.

Francois received the necessary medical care in the port city of Cartagena, and then was handed over to the immigration authorities to return home.

Jeremy Renner’s horrific 911 call revealed!

New details about actor Jeremy Renner’s horrific accident have emerged as audio clips of the 911 call were obtained by TMZ.

According to TMZ, a neighbor spent over 15 minutes with the 911 dispatcher, while Renner can be heard moaning in pain in the background.

In a two-minute audio clip, the actor’s neighbor attempts to explain the urgency of the situation.

The situation seems to deteriorate quickly and panic sets in the neighbor’s voice. He then requests an ETA (estimated time of arrival) from the paramedics, but he can’t get it due to the huge amount of snow left by the storm.

The neighbor again explains Renner’s situation, who has “shallow breathing with a lot of pain.”

The audio clip ends with the neighbor saying the actor is “falling asleep” and as he talks to the actor asking him to “stay awake,” which is very emotional.

After spending several weeks in intensive care, Jeremy Renner is now back home for a long recovery.

And with these new details, we can say once again that he really did narrowly escape death.

Flyers player refused to wear a jersey in support of the LGBTQ community

The Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov decided not to participate in the warm-up period of his team on Tuesday night because of wearing the Pride jersey. To justify this controversial decision, he invoked his religion (Russian Orthodox)…

Let’s recall that during the warm-up before facing the Anaheim Ducks, the Flyers wore Pride-themed jerseys, in addition to a rainbow ribbon(tape) on their pads.

Obviously, this moment is meant to be an important annual moment set aside as a sign of support for the LGBTQ community, which has earned them a ton of criticism across America.

https://twitter.com/globeandmail/status/1615565914010972162

Provorov, who spent all of 23 minutes on the ice surface, wanted to “respect” himself by refusing to put on the jersey.

So he declined to take further questions on the subject. Moreover, his coach, John Tortorella, supported him, indicating that he respected Provorov since he was always faithful to himself.

It is important to note that following this session as a sign of support, the jerseys and sticks will be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to “the team’s charity and its efforts to develop field hockey in various communities”.

The NHL also supports the You Can Play which aims to ensure equality, respect and safety for all athletes, regardless of sexual orientation.

Greta Thunberg arrested in Germany after violent confrontation!

Climate activist Greta Thunberg was arrested by the police while participating in a demonstration a few days ago in the village of Lützerath, Germany.

It was the expansion of a coal mine that would force the complete eviction of the residents of Lützerath that drew the attention of pro-climate protesters, who were reportedly joined by Thunberg earlier this week.

The clashes between protesters and police have been going on for several weeks, according to CNN, and began when several hundred police officers showed up at the doors of residents to force them out of their homes.

According to CNN, the goal is to completely seal off the village over a radius of 1.5 kilometers, and then demolish everything!

According to The Guardian, violent altercations between the police and the protesters began when the police tried to evict the protesters who had barricaded themselves in the village. The German government justifies the expansion of this mine, in particular to reduce their energy dependence on Russia.

Now in her 230th week of climate strike, Greta Thunberg still seems determined in her climate fight!

Buffalo now has a 17-foot painting of Damar Hamlin!

The city of Buffalo has offered a dose of inspiration to its residents with a new work of art named Damar Hamlin, which was painted on a wall by local artist Adam Zyglis.

Zyglis, the project’s mastermind, collaborated with Rory Allen to find the perfect location for Hamlin’s painting, which suffered a cardiac arrest in the field a few weeks ago. The mural is in Larkin Square, a little outside of downtown, about 15 minutes from the Bills’ Highmark Stadium.

https://twitter.com/TMZ/status/1615544551820722176

Adam Zyglis is an editorial cartoonist at the Buffalo News, and the idea for the mural came to him when Hamlin was released from the hospital, foiling the odds.

The painting stands 17 feet tall, and Damar is seen in his Bills uniform, making a heart shape with his hands.

It took the artist four to five hours to complete.

https://twitter.com/federisimo/status/1615084602682474515

Remember that Hamlin can not play yet, but he supported his teammates in the win against the Miami Dolphins in the wild card round.
