Olivia Wilde had difficulty adjusting to her new family life after her divorce

Divorces and separations always bring about a lot of change…

During an interview on the set of The Kelly Clarkson Show, actress and director Olivia Wilde opened up about her family life. Separated from her ex-husband, Jason Sudeikis, for two years, Olivia Wilde has been caught up in a media whirlwind surrounding the custody of her children, which she recently won. This mishap, as well as the simple fact of having to reorganize family life after a separation, has been trying for the star.

As any separated parent can attest, adjusting to a new family reality that now involves two homes for the children is not necessarily simple and easy.

The film’s director Don’t Worry Darling explains that “reshaping a family is not easy,” but that this situation has led her to be closer to her children than before. The separation as well as the new family life has prompted Wilde to have deeper discussions with her children about topics like emotions, happiness and what family means. She explains that it “allowedher to getto know them in a different way.

Olivia Wilde goes on to say that she sometimes finds it difficult to live a family life in the public eye, especially after a messy divorce and a new high-profile relationship. All in all, she considers herself very fortunate to be well taken care of and to be able to focus on the love of her loved ones and her children.

At the end of the day, Wilde and her ex-husband’s priority is to make sure their children are well and happy.

This is a sentiment that all separated parents can probably relate to.
