Amber Heard fires her lawyers and changes her strategy for her appeal

Amber Heard was found guilty of defamation because she presented herself as a victim of domestic violence and a jury preferred the version of Johnny Depp.

Amber Heard chose to appeal her verdict, which concluded a surreal lawsuit against Johnny Depp, but for the next chapter of this story, she decided to hire two new high-profile lawyers, David L. Axelrod and Jay Ward Brown.

The plan is clear for the next chapter: to assert the right to freedom of speech, which is guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

The 36-year-old actress still hasn’t given up, deciding to let Elaine Bredehoft go, who was her lawyer during the six-week trial.

Heard and her new team will go ahead with a new strategy to avoid paying a final sum currently estimated at more than $10M (US).

The Heard team seems really confident to turn the situation around in favor of the actress, The Toronto Sun reports.

Kaley Cuoco opens up about her depression after her divorce

The actress has even started a therapy…

Kaley Cuoco, an American actress well known for her many roles on television such as The Big Bang Theory and The Flight Attendant, recently opened up about her depression that followed her divorce from her second husband, Karl Cook.

It was in September of last year that Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook ended their marriage, and the actress had a very difficult time following the separation. In an interview with Variety magazine, Kaley Cuoco explains that she threw herself headfirst into her work – she was filming the second season of The Flight Attendant – to the point where she was in total denial about what she was going through. Yet, this new separation caused her a lot of emotional damage, even leading her to depression.

To make matters worse for the actress, her character on The Flight Attendant is also experiencing major challenges in the second season, and playing the role has become a daily challenge for the actress. In her interview with Variety, she explains that she got to a point where she “couldn’t do it all,” and that’s when she decided to schedule an “intervention” with all the producers of the show. During this meeting, she confided in them about her situation and fortunately received a lot of support from the producers.

Because Kaley Cuoco felt like she couldn’t cope on her own, she sought out a therapist to help her navigate through all the emotions she was feeling as a result of the divorce and the intensive filming of the show.

Actors go through difficult times as well, and when they open up about their problems in this way, it helps to further break down the taboo around mental health, depression and anxiety.

Back to school: all CO2 sensors are installed in Quebec, Jean-François Roberge says

Jean-François Roberge says everything is ready for the start of the school year

With the start of the 2022 school year just days away, Education Minister Jean-François Roberge says all CO2 sensors have been installed in classrooms across the province. Schools are therefore ready to check CO2 levels to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

The demand for these sensors dates back to the beginning of the pandemic, and after more than two years, installation in all schools is finally complete. The CO2 sensors will be used as part of a school air quality management strategy. To prevent the spread of COVID-19 in classrooms and common areas, the sensors measure various parameters such as temperature, humidity and CO2 levels in the room. The provincial target has been set at 1000 ppm (parts per million), with a tolerance of up to 1500 ppm.

However, this target does not meet with unanimous approval, especially in the scientific community.

Indeed, as reported by Radio-Canada, Stéphane Bilodeau, a lecturer in the Department of Bioengineering at McGill University, explains that “when weaccept 1500 ppm, it means that we are very tolerant of the risk of infection. If we are in what many experts talk about as a suitable limit, we are more in the order of 800 parts per million. Some even mention 700.

The Minister of Education’s department prioritized solution to managing CO2 levels in classrooms is still natural ventilation – opening windows, even in the dead of winter. While some schools across the province have benefited from work such as window changes or the installation of mechanical ventilation, not all school buildings have been renovated. This is of course a concern to many parents who would like to see more action taken to ensure air quality in schools.

Considering that the start of the 2022 school year will be without measures such as masking, distancing or reducing class sizes, and that an eighth wave seems to be looming over the province, parents’ concerns are quite understandable.

Nevertheless, Roberge says he is pleased with the work that has been done. He also says that improving the school system remains a priority for the CAQ.
