Here is the most expensive car in history

Mercedes-Benz has auctioned off the most expensive car in the world. A 1955Mercedes-Benz SLR Coupe sold for 135 million euros, the equivalent of $142 million.

The car was one of only two 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe prototypes, named after Mercedes’ chief engineer atthe time, Rudolf Uhlenhaut. The other Uhlenhaut Coupe will remain in the museum’s collection, according to a statement from Mercedes-Benz.

The SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe was essentially a hardtop version of Mercedes’ famous open-top SLR race car, powered by a 300-horsepower eight-cylinder engine, reaching a top speed of 300 mph.

Proceeds from the sale of the car, which was sold May 5 in Stuttgart, Germany, will be donated to the Mercedes-Benz Fund, a worldwide scholarship fund.

The record price for the sale of the Mercedes-Benz Coupe SLR far surpasses the previous record for a car sale, belonging to a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO that reached $70 millionpaid in 2018.

The name of the lucky owner of this very rare Mercedes-Benz SLR coupe, a new car sales record, is not known.

Sean Connery’s Aston Martin DB5 is up for sale

Sean Connery‘sAston Martin DB5, a copy of the one he drove in the 1964 film Goldfinger in 1964, will soon be sold at auction.

In the James Bond movie, Her Majesty’s secret agent played by Sean Connery drove for the first time an Aston Martin DB5, a mythical car that has gone down in history.

More than 50 years later, the famous actor sought to buy a 1964 DB5 for himself. After a year of searching, in 2018,Sean Connery finally got his hands on the famous car. Two years later, the actor passed away at the age of 90.

This1964DB5 will be sold at auction on August 18 . The sale price is expected to reach between $1.4 million and $1.8 million, according to the auction company Broad Arrow Group. That’s a price slightly higher than the $1 million such a car would normally sell for.

After buying the car, Sean Connery had it repainted from black to Snow Shadow Gray(Silver Birch), the color of the car in the movieGoldfinger.

ActorJason Connery’s sonadmitted to CNN that his father barely had time to drive his beautiful car.

“Unfortunately, as he got older, he had a hard time traveling, especially in Europe, and then COVID came along and… You know, unfortunately, he never really got to enjoy the car that he bought.”

According to the Broad Arrow Group, a portion of the proceeds from the sale will go to support the Connery Family Philanthropy Fund. In addition to the car, the prospective buyer will be treated to a ride from famed retired Formula 1 driver Jackie Stewart.

Like Connery, Stewart is originally from Scotland, and the two men were longtime friends.

With interest from car enthusiasts or James Bond fans, British brand Aston Martin re-launched its iconic model in 2020 as the DB5 Goldfinger Continuation. 25 copies of the DB5 Goldfinger Continuation were sold at 4.12 million (US) each, including gadgets.
