Thieves steal $615M in cryptocurrencies

The second-largest cryptocurrency theft in history occurred on March 23 from the Ronin blockchain project, authorities announced today.

The Ronin project said unidentified hackers stole some 173,600 ether tokens and 25.5 million USD Coin tokens worth 540 million (US). At current exchange rates, the stolen funds are worth 615 million USD.

Ronin said the hacker used stolen private keys to get hold of the funds.

“We are working directly with various government agencies to ensure that the criminals are brought to justice,” the project said.

Last August, cryptocurrency platform Poly Network was the victim of the largest theft in history. At the time of the misdeed, hackers had seized more than $600 million worth of .ork tokens.

Cryptocurrency is a virtual currency that is increasingly used as a method of payment. It can be exchanged through an exchange platform without the need for a traditional financial system.

Formula 1 is back in Las Vegas

2023 will mark the return of F1 to the strip in Las Vegas.

A brand new city circuit will be erected on the streets of the Nevada city. The evening race will be held in November.

Liberty Media, the owner of Formula 1, announced in the last few hours the addition of a new race on American soil. This new race is in addition to those in Miami, Florida and Austin, Texas , which are already scheduled for 2023.

The 14-turn circuit will be 6.12 km long, with top speeds expected to be around 342 km/hour.

Formula 1

The Las Vegas street circuit will feature three straights, a sequence of high-speed turns and a single chicane. The Grand Prix will be run over 50 laps.

This is not the first time F1 will be run in Vegas. The city hosted a race in 1981 and 1982. However, this is the first time F1 will race on the iconic Strip, the circuit passing famous hotels and casinos.

Drivers have shared their excitement about being in Vegas next year.

On the official F1 website, Lewis Hamilton mentioned that it “is going to be very cool. It’s a party town, some drivers will have a hard time. Sebastian Vettel believes that “some drivers will spend money in the casinos”. Defending champion Max Verstappen joked that he would “need two weeks off before and after” the event to recover from the race.

Queen Elizabeth has a new original vehicle!

Used to prestigious vehicles, Queen Elizabeth adds a new one to her collection. But beware, it is not what you think…

The British monarch has a collection of vehicles more prestigious than the others. Her Majesty often drives Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Range Rover or Land Rover that she sometimes drives herself.

This time, the 95-year-old queen has purchased a high-end golf cart to help her get around, according to the Daily Mail.

The luxury vehicle was reportedly designed by Danish manufacturer Garia in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz. The battery-powered cart can reach speeds of up to 70 mph and travel 50 miles before recharging. It is equipped with four brown leather reclining seats.

The new special cart is also said to be equipped with 14-inch alloy wheels, a heated windshield, waterproof doors, cup holders, a mini-refrigerator, Bluetooth speakers and a 10.1-inch screen next to the steering wheel.

Queen Elizabeth has had some mobility issues in recent weeks, including during Prince Philips memorial service Tuesday at Westminster Abbey.
