Before Bad Bunny was announced as the show’s guest artist, there were rumors that Taylor Swift might be included. NFL CommissionerRoger Goodell reportedly extended an unofficial invitation to her earlier this summer, but to no avail.

Her focus is elsewhere

Taylor Swift revealed that no official offer had been made to her for a possible participation in the Super Bowl half-time show. She also explained that she wanted to focus on the football season of her fiancé, Travis Kelce.

The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver organized quite a surprise to ensure that his proposal to Taylor Swift was perfectly orchestrated.

She recounted how Travis Kelce’s proposal was both simple and deeply romantic. While recording his podcast with his brother, he discreetly transformed their garden for the occasion, closing the curtains so she couldn’t see. Shots fired: Did Taylor Swift diss Charli XCX?

Taylor Swift ‘s long-awaited new album, The Life Of A Showgirl, was officially released on October 3, and is now available on all platforms.

This is the singer’s 12th studio album, and it’s already causing a stir for a number of reasons, including a passage that could be aimed at Charli XCX.

A jab at Charli XCX?

Taylor Swift fans (Swifties) are known for their passion and dedication, and some of them have made a remark about one of the songs on the album. In the song Actually Romantic, a point seems to be directed at British singer Charli XCX, with whom a conflict has allegedly been going on for several years.

In the past, Charli XCX would have referred to Taylor Swift as Boring Barbie, and she wouldn’t have missed the opportunity to retaliate in her new track, making a nod to potential drug use.

“I heard you call me ‘Boring Barbie’ when the coke’s got you brave,” Taylor Swift intones in the song.

“High-fived my ex and then you said you’re glad he ghosted me. Wrote me a song sayin’ it makes you sick to see my face“, we hear in the song. These lyrics seem to echo Sympathy Is a Knife, Charli’s song released in 2024 in which the British artist explores her insecurities, and which already seemed to point up Taylor’s brief relationship with Matty Healy, a member of The 1975, alongside George Daniel, Charli’s husband today.

The two artists have known each other for over a decade, and their relationship began as a collaboration of mutual admiration. Charli XCX joined Taylor Swift on stage during her 1989 tour, performing her hit Boom Clap. Later, Taylor invited Charli to open for her on the Reputation Stadium Tour, one of the most lucrative tours in pop history.

For Charli, it was enormous exposure to the American public at large, even if she would later admit that her musical universe was at odds with that of Taylor’s audience.

The true meaning of Actually Romantic?

In a special edition of the song on Amazon Music, Taylor Swift revealed more about the origin of the work.

“Actually Romantic is a song about the moment when we realize that someone else was in a one-sided, conflicted relationship with us, without us knowing it,” Taylor explains.

She explains that, sometimes, a person can come to think so much of you that they make you feel you occupy a huge place in their life, without you being aware of it. While from the outside this may look like resentment or a problem they have with you, she points out that in reality it’s a form of attention, almost affection. You end up perceiving it as a mark of love. She adds that it’s flattering to realize that you can occupy such a space in someone’s mind for free. In retrospect, she even considers it rather romantic.

The relationship between Taylor Swift and Charli XCX is a perfect example of how two very different artistic trajectories can intersect, complement and sometimes collide. Taylor, a central figure in world pop, embodies an accessible, universal narrative, while Charli stands out as the experimenter who constantly pushes the boundaries of the genre.

The Rock does not rule out presidency bid

Dwayne The Rock Johnson is many things in his daily life: an actor, a wrestler, an entertainer, a family man, a businessman, but will he become a politician?

For several years, the big guy has often been identified by observers and fans for a possible campaign to become President of the United States. These are rumors and speculations that never want to die out in the media. He has revealed in the past that several political parties have already approached him about a presidential bid, but that he had no interest in it.

But what does Johnson think now?

He loves his job, but…

Currently promoting his new film The Smashing Machine, a biographical title about former MMA fighter Mark Kerr, The Rock responded to those rumors of a potential campaign to become president.

He didn’t close the door on the possibility, though he loves his work as an actor.

“It’s wild man. I’m always honored when people ask that. I love what I do. But yeah… we’ll see.” – The Rock, interview with Variety

As a charismatic figure on the cinematic landscape, The Rock would certainly have votes of confidence across the U.S., having been supported by around 46% of U.S. adults who took part in a poll in 2021. Other celebrities such as Angelina Jolie (30%), Oprah (27%) and Tom Hanks (22%) had been included in a similar poll.

In fact, since 2016, he has raised the possibility of becoming a presidential candidate, having said he would consider it “if that’s what the people want”.

A difficult transformation

The 53-year-old touched on other pertinent topics, including his incredible physical transformation for The Smashing Machine. He mentioned that this process has been the hardest thing he’s done in his life, having lost around 60 lbs.

Both actors’ performances are already sparking an Oscar Buzz, speculation that they could receive Oscar nominations. This would be a first for Dwayne Johnson, unlike Blunt who received her first career nomination in 2024 for her role as Kitty in Oppenheimer.

The 31-year-old took part in the Berlin Marathon, completing the 26.2-mile (42-kilometer) race in under 3 hours, beating his personal best. He ran at a brisk pace, with the first half completed in 1:29:08 and the second half in 1:30:06, according to the BMV Berlin Marathon app, for a total of 2:59:13. Men’s race winner Sebastian Sawe finished the race in 2:02:16, while Rosemary Wanjiru won the title on the women’s side with a time of 2:21:05.

Sted Sarandos

More than 80,000 runners took part in this German race, and Styles didn’t miss a chance to stand out from the crowd, notably with his blue top, black Tracksmith shorts, District Vision Junya Racer sunglasses and pink Nike Alphafly 3 shoes. What’s more, the Briton wasn’t registered at BMV Berlin Marathon under his own name, but rather under the pseudonym Sted Sarandos, which is an obvious nod to Netflix bigwig Ted Sarandos.

Trump disrupts Ryder Cup organization

The 45th edition of the Ryder Cup is just around the corner, as the competition takes place on the Black Course at Bethpage Black State Park in Farmingdale, New York.

This is a much-anticipated golf event for fans of the sport, but the expected presence of President Donald Trump on site is sure to complicate spectators’ curtain-raising plans.

Major restrictive measures

It’s well known that when Trump attends a public event, strict security measures must be put in place to protect him from possible external threats. His presidential visit to the Ryder Cup will be no exception: expect security measures similar to those at the airport. Tournament organizers have warned ticket holders a few days in advance, so that they have some leeway to become aware of certain items that will be prohibited on the premises.

The list of prohibited items around the first tee and clubhouse includes portable folding chairs, large vaping devices, torch-type lighters, as well as insulated metal or rigid plastic beverage containers. Large umbrellas are also prohibited, although small retractable models are permitted, subject to restrictions in certain areas of the course and main grandstand, where the use of rain ponchos is strongly recommended.

Rangefinders will be strictly forbidden on the golf course on Friday September 26, and all bags, personal effects and their contents will be subject to inspection.

Finally, laptops and tablets will not be allowed inside the Bethpage Black course.

With the Ellison family’s recent investments in politics and media, plus anOracle order valued at over $450B (US) for Cloud services and contracts withAI, Nvidia and OpenAI, their empire has taken off in leaps and bounds. The Ellison family also recently bought Paramount Global for $8B (US).

Oracle and Ellison are also planning further deals over the coming months, which could exceed $500B (US), including a data center project with Softbank’s Masayoshi Son and OpenAI’s Sam Altman.
