On August 21, the voting period came to an end, allowing the public to choose the three candidates, from among the nine unveiled, who are most likely to please the boys during the new edition ofOccupation Double.
Today, the long-awaited moment of unveiling has finally arrived! The announcement took place during a special episode on the preparations for the 18th season.
For the occasion, the candidates gathered with host Frédérick Robichaud.
After a toast in honor of the start of the adventure, the unveiling segment began, in the company of the lovers and hosts, Alicia and Fred. As well as the three chosen by the public… Maude, Catherine F. and Catherine L.
All that remains to be seen is whether these three candidates will go straight into the adventure, or whether they’ll be part of one of the famous OD twists!
It also looks like the boys will have to prove themselves to the girls, at least according to the host, as he mentioned during his meeting with the male candidates.
“Me, guys, I know the answer (…) First announcement of the season, that’s where it happens: You’re the ones who are going to introduce yourselves to the girls; yes, it’s you!” reveals Fred, after several hypotheses from the guys as to whether they’ll have to make a speech or not!
On September 8, at 6:30 p.m. on Noovo, you’ll finally have the answer, as it’s red carpet night for this 18th edition!
June 2025 marks the official end of Lab-École ‘s eight-year mandate, rather than the five originally planned.
Six Scandinavian-inspired schools will have been built in these eight years, and they will unfortunately be the last.
At a conference on the subject, Minister of Education Bernard Drainville mentioned that the end of the project was a decision taken by the project’s founders: Pierre Thibault, Pierre Lavoie and Ricardo Larrivée. That this choice was not made by a government that wanted to cut back on school construction or renovation in Quebec.
Furthermore, in a press release published on the Lab-École organization’s website as well as on their Instagram account, it states:
“In the past year, the board of directors made the decision to end Lab-École ‘s activities considering that the mandate is fully realized and more.”

Despite this decision, the founders make no secret of their disappointment at not having been able to bring a Lab-École project to fruition in Montreal , where the number of dilapidated schools is the highest in the province. Apparently, it would not have been easy to obtain land on the CSSDM territory, but Griffintown would have been a perfect neighborhood for such a project.
Architect Pierre Thibault mentions that the aim of this innovative project was to inspire creativity in the construction of educational facilities. Now, what he would like to see is for this creativity to continue to be expressed through new school construction, but if it’s not Lab-École.
Certainly, when you understand the mission of these schools, it’s hard not to be disappointed to learn that there will be very few of them after all.
The aim of Lab-École is not just to innovate architecturally, but quite simply to rethink the role of the school. It’s no longer the traditional school as we know it, but a place where support is put forward; a socio-affective approach rather than a coercive one. Positive reinforcement rather than punishment. It’s a public school, no selection. A neighborhood school for everyone. It’s a place that’s meant to be catchy, where we get away from the lecture and get much more practical, but without losing the transmission of knowledge.
In a Radio-Canada article, the founders mention that although the government has not completed the project, collaboration has not always been straightforward.
According to Pierre Lavoie: “Education is not yet a priority in Quebec. Regardless of the government, we have to rebuild. Quebec schools are 60 years old,” reported Radio-Canada.
Pierre Thibault, for his part, deplores the fact that: “In the big ministries, we see that deputy ministers change often, that teams change often. It’s hard to stay the course of innovation when all the teams change”.
RicardoLarrivée added that: “As soon as governments feel that there’s economic pressure, that there’s an election, they’re all the same: they’re afraid. So they react with caution rather than vision. It’s the role of citizens to remind them: no, on the contrary, we want a vision.”
So that’s the end of this project, which has shown that it is possible to rethink school and take it out of its traditional framework, where not all students can find their place.

It took seven years for Léa Clermont-Dion to obtain justice. Seven long years of legal proceedings following her official complaint, in 2017, against former journalist Michel Venne.

In 2008, Léa Clermont-Dion, then aged 17, was an intern for Michel Venne, who was at the time director of theInstitut du Nouveau Monde, which he also founded. It was during thesummer school session of that year that the events incriminating him took place.
On the first occasion, Michel Venne placed his hand on Léa Clermont-Dion‘s thigh, close to her private parts, for a few seconds. It was during a cab ride, when he was sitting between her and his wife.
A few days later, the director escorted the young woman back to the apartment she was staying in for the duration of the event. This time, he touched the complainant’s genitals over her clothes, before attempting direct contact under her underwear.
Today, in 2024, the story finally ends as Michel Venne is found guilty of sexual interference and sexual assault against Léa Clermont-Dion. He will serve a six-month prison sentence.
She chose to share the news via her social networks.
“In October 2017, at the age of 27, I filed a complaint for a sexual assault that occurred when I was 17. This fall, Marie-Annick Lépine, a lover of the late Karl Tremblay, opened up about a project dear to her heart.
In 2019, the lead singer of the legendary Cowboys Fringants will become co-owner of Repentigny’s Pub Randolph. On the very day of the official opening, he learned that his cancer was forwarding to his bones, yet his passion for this project where everyone could come and share a moment of play never waned.
Marie-Annick Lépine, in a Facebook post, is asking for your help to ensure the survival of the establishment.
“I’m writing to you today because I’m looking for materials for an exhibition. I know that several artists and craftsmen have created magnificent works with the image of my fat. Nicolas Smith, what a talent, came to bring me one and he’s offering me another just as beautiful (see the photo in my post). If your works aren’t sold, would you be interested in exhibiting them at Repentigny’s Pub Randolph? My man worked very hard to open this Pub Ludique, which is now a family restaurant. Like all restaurateurs, the pandemic was financially fatal. After two years of renovations and preparations, he opened his heart project in December 2019, we received the diagnosis of his incurable cancer in January 2020. On February 4, we returned from an examination to find out whether his bones had also metastasized, and the answer was yes. That same evening was the official inauguration of his “baby”… I cried all evening, he didn’t. He enjoyed every minute without letting on. Anyway, I’d like to fill a room in his memory.
