Since the election of Trump as the 47th president of the United States, many personalities have not hesitated to express their anger and indignation regarding various decisions.
It’s now Selena Gomez‘s turn, who shared a video where she bursts into tears, reacting emotionally to the plight of undocumented Mexican immigrants, over 4,000 of whom were expelled from the United States in just seven days.
In this video, quickly deleted but now widely shared, filled with sadness and compassion for those affected by this news, the star expresses her dismay for her fellow citizens as well as her feelings of helplessness in the face of the situation.
She adds that she doesn’t know what to do in such a situation, but claims that she will do everything in her power to help, in one way or another.
After deleting her post, the star shared another story in which she stated that apparently, it is not acceptable to show empathy for people.
This story was also deleted afterward.
Illegal immigration is a topic that particularly affects the Mexican-American star, who has reportedly already discussed her family’s immigration story dating back to the 1970s in interviews.
Her aunt is said to have crossed the border between Mexico and the United States by hiding in the back of a truck. Shortly after, her paternal grandparents are said to have joined her.
Once settled in the United States, they are said to have welcomed their son Ricardo, Selena’s father.
