BIG AdminThe 39 year-old Canadian actress has announced that she won’t be attending the film festival. She confirmed the news on her website, where she wrote that she will host her own movie premiere at home with her sons, Brandon, 10 and Dylan, 9.
The premiere in Cannes will come complete with an appearance of the other star of the film, Denise Richards.
The Cannes Film Festival is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, and will run from May 16 until May 27.
The Volver star welcomed her 33rd birthday in New York with the singer, fueling rumours that the two are romantically involved.
The two were spotted together at the Beatrice Inn in New York on April 28, before spending the night together at the singer’s Tribeca apartment.
The New York Post said, "Penelope is due in Europe to do a fashion shoot for Mango clothing but she keeps postponing it to join Lenny on his tour. They’ve been friends for a long time."
Penelope Cruz has been previously involved with a number of celebrity men, including Tom Cruise, Orlando Bloom, Josh Hartnett and Matthew McConaughey. Lenny Kravitz has been linked to Nicole Kidman, Helena Christensen, Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbrulia and Vanessa Paradis.
The Purple Rain singer will perform seven times beginning on August 1 at the O2 arena, which holds 20,000 people. The other 14 shows will be offered at various other locations around the English capital.
During a press conference yesterday, the singer explained the reason for so many shows in the same city. Prince said, "Last time I was here, a lot of people didn’t get to see me, so we’re trying to make it affordable for everybody."
He added, "We play so many different styles of music, it’s really hard to get a full dose of what we do unless you come to several shows."
The well-known singer recently spent a week in a recording studio with the SexyBack singer. The results have made Madonna want to repeat the experience again.
Timberlake said, "We ended up with five or six really good (songs) – some unfinished, some finished and we’re gonna go back in July and work on some more stuff."
Timberlake admitted that he is also impressed by the work of Madonna, saying, "Her ethic is kinda infectious in the studio. I was like: ‘I’m too slow, I’m too slow…’ She’s a workhorse and I’m just a fan… who tricked Madonna."
The Desperate Housewives star revealed the news to Parade magazine.
The 44 year-old actress admits that rumours of her being drunk were true. Huffman, who co-starred in the film with Lindsay Lohan and Jane Fonda, said, "OK, it’s a little true. I was drunk a little bit of it, but not a lot. I wish I could have done it drunk."
Georgia Rule opened in American theatres last weekend. The film had a budget of $60 million.
The star of the films Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down, among others, was caught with methamphetamines in his car at a Bakersfield, California hotel.
The 45 year-old actor, who has been on probation since 2004 for another drug arrest, was arrested yesterday morning after an altercation at the Four Points Sheraton hotel.
In October, 2004, Sizemore was arrested for drug possession. In January, 2006, he failed a drug test, which resulted in the requirement of weekly drug tests.
The 43 year-old appeared in a London court to face charges of driving while under the influence of drugs last October.
The former Wham! singer addressed the court by saying, "I did something very stupid and I am very ashamed since doing it."
Michael added, "I am perfectly aware that I did something very wrong and got into my car when I was unfit to drive."
George Michael will be sentenced on May 30.
The petition, which was posted on the Internet yesterday, is asking former actor and current California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to give Hilton a pardon.
A spokesman for the governor said that it was, "premature to engage in a discussion over the petition until Paris Hilton has exhausted all of her legal remedies."
The spokesman added that Governor Schwarzenegger only intervenes in extraordinary cases.
By Wednesday morning, more than 3,000 people had signed the petition.
Last Friday, lawyers for the 26 year-old filed an appeal in a Los Angeles court. Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail, which will begin on June 5.
Hilton was found guilty of driving her car while on a suspended driver’s license. The star had been stopped twice for driving while under the influence, first on January 22, and again on February 27, before having her license suspended.
The Desperate Housewives star will marry her fiance, professional basketball player Tony Parker, this summer. Parker plays in the NBA for the San Antonio Spurs.
Longoria revealed the news while being interviewed on the Jimmy Kimmel show on ABC. She said, "Luckily, we’re getting married after the playoffs and then we need to consummate the marriage. I scheduled it that way."
Longoria and Parker will marry on July 7 in France.
The collection will be launched this week by the 21 year-old Smile singer. Allen follows the footsteps of many other stars who have put their name on clothing collections, including Madonna and Kate Moss, who sell their items at H&M and Top Shop.
For the collection, the singer looked at her own collection of 300 dresses to find the inspiration behind the designs, and went further than the usual pretty flower types.
