Prince William Is Single

The son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, 24, is the second heir to the throne of England.

On Saturday, The Sun announced the news.  According to the paper, the split is the result of enormous pressure for the Prince to continue his military career.  Many people believed that an engagement announcement was near.

Julian Lennon Sells Part of His Beatles Catalog

According to the Wall Street Journal, Lennon, 44, sold a portion of his shares to Primary Wave Music Publishing.  The songs involved in the transaction were songs that were written by John Lennon.

Julian Lennon is the son of Cynthia, the first wife of John Lennon.  His half-brother, Sean Lennon, and Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, are the remaining heirs to John Lennon’s songs.

Seal Plans To Test New Songs

The British singer will begin a short tour of the United States on May 15, and will be performing some of his new songs for his fans.

Seal is currently recording his songs.  He wrote on his website, "The new record is really shaping up and is turning out to be much of a dance record."

He added, "This is something that I’ve always wanted to do seeing as most will say that dance is my background. Over the years I’ve somehow become more known for my ballads which I also love doing but dance music has always been close to my heart."

Some of the titles of the new songs are Swoosh, Silent, Wedding Day, When You Run, I’ve Been Almost Everywhere and You and Me.

James Blunt Avoids Charges

Before the recent Oscar Awards ceremony, the British singer was accused of hitting a member of the paparazzi with his car.  Los Angeles police officers investigated the incident, and decided not to file charges.

Blunt was accused of hitting a photographer with his car, and then leaving the scene without stopping.

Madonna Will Not Adopt More Children

Although the star is currently in Africa, a spokesperson has told People magazine that the trip to Malawi is not to adopt another child.  "Madonna is indeed going to Africa to continue her work with the Raising Malawi organization," says her rep Liz Rosenberg. "She is overseeing the building of a children’s health care center."

But her rep added, "She is absolutely not adopting another baby. I know that has been a rumor ever since she began the adoption process for her son David but it just isn’t true."

Christina Ricci To Star in New Film

Warner Bros. has announced that Ricci will star opposite Emile Hirsch in the action film.  Ricci will play Trixie, the girlfriend of Speed Racer, a race car driver.

Speed Racer is expected to be in theatres on May 9, 2008.  The film will be directed by the Wachowski brothers, who are best known for the Matrix films.  Christina Ricci, who currently stars in the film Black Snake Moan, also stars in the television series Grey’s Anatomy.

Watch the Trailer for Atonement

Atoneyment is a story that begins in 1935 with a 13 year-old girl named Briony.  During the story, she falsely accuses her neighbour of a crime, which creates chaos in her family and town.

In addition to Knightley, the drama also stars Vanessa Redgrave, James McAvoy, Romola Garai, Brenda Blethyn and Saoirse Ronan.  The film was directed by Joe Wright (Pride & Prejudice, The Last King, Bob & Rose).

Enrique Iglesias To Release New Disc

The disc will be the first release for the Latino star since 2003.  The first single from the CD, Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song) will be played on the radio beginning next week.

The son of Julio Iglesias will be making several television appearances in order to promote his new album, and will also be taking part in the Live Earth concert in the United States on July 7.

The Beatles Make Peace With EMI

Since 2005, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the estates of John Lennon and George Harrison have been battling EMI in the legal system over royalties from disc sales.  A spokesperson for EMI confirmed that the two sides have reached an agreement, saying, "I can confirm that we have reached a mutually acceptable settlement and that we are not going to say anything more than that."

In the original court documents filed, The Beatles claimed that EMI had owed the band members nearly $60 million US.
