Keira Knightley Isn’t Laughing

The 21 year-old star is not happy that the media is releasing stories about her thinness.  She has decided to file a lawsuit against the Daily Mail, which published a photograph of her on the beach.  Several comments in the adjoining story questioned if Knightley was suffering from anorexia.

The star is furious that the article gives the impression that she has an eating disorder, which she flatly denies.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star also has her lawyers battling the suggestion by the paper that she is unfit as an example for adolescents.

Sharon Stone a Favourite for Razzie Awards

The sequel of the 1992 film starring the pretty actress received seven nominations.  The categories that Basic Instinct 2 will compete in are Worst Film, Worst Actress (Stone) and Worst Supporting Actor (David Thewlis).

The comedy Little Man from the Wayans brothers also earned seven nominations.

The Razzies, which will be presented on the eve of the Oscars, will also honour Tim Allen for Worst Actor in the films The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, The Shaggy Dog and Zoom.

Kanye West and Chris Martin Collaborate

The new release from West, which will be launched before the end of the year.  The single Homecoming was the end result of their teamwork.

In addition to Martin, West told Billboard that he also asked Jon Brion to work with him on the new disc.

"We’ll be working together again on the new project," West promises. "Jon wasn’t just a producer — he was such a good friend and a great person to bounce ideas off of in the studio. It was the whole experience."

Paris Hilton Considers Plastic Surgery

According to the New York Post, the 25 year-old actress and singer is considering some cosmetic touch-ups.  The paper writes that Hilton wants to correct a droopy left eyelid.

The surgery may be planned as a correction to a previous operation six years ago, which left the droopy eyelid and hasn’t been resolved.

Kelly Clarkson Teams with NASCAR

The Because of You singer has signed a contract which will make her the face of NASCAR in several television spots and national events.  The singer will also headline a concert that will take place before the Daytona 500.

Clarkson, 24, will also participate in charity events organised by NASCAR.  The details of the contract were not revealed.

China Bans The Departed

The thriller, which follows gangster-related activities in Boston, shows a sale of secret technologies to Chinese villains.  The Chinese government did not like how their people were portrayed in the film.

Chinese authorities only allow about 20 foreign films into their country each year, and several Hollywood movies are routinely rejected.

Last Sunday, Scorsese earned a Golden Globe award for best director for the film.  The Departed stars Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen and Alec Baldwin.

Fergie To Join Super Bowl Party

The three stars have confirmed their participation in the NFL Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Concert Series.

The biggest game in football will take place in February in Miami.  Singer Prince will be the lead performer for the half-time show.

The game, which is the most highly watched sporting event of the year, will take place on February 4.

Denzel Washington Is America’s Favourite

According to a Harris survey, the 52 year-old actor beat Tom Hanks to top the list.  Hanks, who has been the list topper for two years, is now in second place, before John Wayne, who died more than 27 years ago.

The fourth spot is occupied by the legendary Clint Eastwood.  Will Smith and Julia Roberts tied for the fifth spot.

The top ten is rounded out by Johnny Depp, Mel Gibson, George Clooney and Harrison Ford.

Al Pacino To Play Salvador Dali

The star of The Godfather will be the lead actor in the film Dali & I: The Surreal Story.

Directed by Andrew Niccol (The Truman Show, The Terminal), Dali & I: The Surreal Story follows the life of the Spanish painter.

Filming is set to begin on the project in June in New York and Spain.

Jenna Jameson Wants Scarlett Johansson

The 32 year-old X-rated star recently revealed that she is in discussions to bring her life to the silver screen in the film How To Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale.

According to Contactmusic, Jameson said, "I’m in talks to make my book into a movie. It looks like we’re going to be selling it to a big movie company and go into production next year."

Jameson’s book was released in 2004, and followed the star’s life since 1993.  Jameson would love for the Lost in Translation star to play her in the film.  Jameson said, "We’re looking, hopefully, at Scarlett Johansson. She’s my choice. I think she’s beautiful."
