Paula Abdul in Hot Water

A judge on the popular television reality series, American Idol, borded a Southwest Airlines flight without passing through security checkpoints at McCarran International Airport, in Nevada.

The singer was accompagnied by a friend, and the two were travelling to Burbank (California), where they were to film a television show.

Due to the security breach, all passengers on the flight were required to be re-screened upon arrival in Burbank.  An investigation is underway to find out if an airport employee is responsible for allowing Abdul to pass without proper screening.

Rod Stewart Ordered to Pay $3 Million

In 2000, Stewart did not perform at the casino for a New Year’s concert, although he had previously signed a contract.  The hotel/casino paid Stewart an advance of $2 million, which was never returned by Stewart.  In addition to the $2 million, the judge ordered Stewart to pay interest to the Rio Hotel and Casino.

Stewart’s lawyer is filing an appeal.

Oscar Presenters May Pay Taxes

Jessica Alba, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, among others, may be required to pay a $30,000 tax to the United States.  The presenters each received $100,000 in gifts, including a $7,000 gift certificate to Victoria’s Secret.

Chantal Kreviazuk Joins Garnier

Kreviazuk, who is preparing for the release of her first CD in three years, will be seen in magazine ads in the coming weeks.  Television commercials will also be presented soon for the hair colouring products.

John Travolta To Star in Hairspray

For the 52 year-old actor, it will be his first performance in a musical film since Grease in 1978.  Travolta will play Edna Turnblad, and the cast will also include actress Queen Latifah.

Filming for Hairspray will begin in the spring, and the movie is expected to be in theatres in the summer of 2007.

Former Creed Singer Being Sued

According to the Associated Press, a lawsuit was filed against the singer in Miami.  The unidentified woman who filed the claim, is one of the four women who appear in the 2004 video, during which Stapp and singer Kid Rock have sex with the women.

Kid Rock has been trying to stop the release of the tape, which has now been released on the internet.

The woman in the case is charging Stapp with invasion of privacy, alleging that she agreed to make the video with Stapp on the assumption that he would never make its contents public.  The plaintiff also claims that she has suffered from emotional stress since the commercialization of the video.  She is asking for a monetary award from Stapp.

The Ten Rules of Victoria Beckham

The star, known for her shopping sprees around the world, said that she never goes out without big sunglasses.  She also told readers to use their imagination to adapt the clothes that they already have.  She sometimes wears her t-shirts inside-out.

Beckham also talked about the importance of having good accessories, like a handbag, shoes and sunglasses.

The star also stressed that women shouldn’t wear too little, because it’s sexy to leave men desiring more.

Kylie Minogue Plans a December Return

According to IOL, the star, who is recovering from breast cancer, is anxious to be back in the limelight.  Minogue, however, is denying rumours that she will be performing at the Opening Ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games in on March 15.  A source said, "There’s a lot of talk about the Commonwealth Games this month, but that’s absolute rubbish, even though they are being held in her home city of Melbourne."

A representative for Minogue said, "She would have loved to do the opening ceremony, but while her health is definitely restoring itself, it’s a little to soon for her to take the stage again."

According to the Sunday Mirror, the pretty 37 year-old singer is also awaiting the return of her hair, which she lost after several chemotherapy treatments last year.

Halle Berry Gets Ill on X-Men Set

The 39 year-old star confessed that she became physically ill while filming some of the stunts for the movie.  In the action film, Berry’s character, Storm, can create lightning and storms, which required the actress to be wired for special effects.  Some of those stunts made her stomach turn upside down.  She said, "There was a lot of wire work and spinning. "By the end of the scene I was off the wire and walking back to the trailer – then blurrgh! I hurled."

Keira Knightley Joins Chanel

The 20 year-old star, who was a nominee at the Oscars for her performance in Pride & Prejudice, has inked a three-year deal with Chanel.  Knightley will be replacing model Kate Moss, who lost her contract after photographs of her using cocaine were published.
