Will Simply Red Become a Musical?

Following the likes of Rod Stewart, Queen and Abba, Hucknall now hopes that his music can be adapted for a musical theatre show.  The singer hopes that his music, with a latin edge, will be put together with a love story set in Cuba.  The show, to be called Simply Cuban, will be aided by well-known British choreographer Arlene Phillips.

In an interview with ContactMusic, Phillips explained, "It will be a love story interwoven with events from Cuban history."

She added, "It will be the Simply Red songs we all know but with a Latin feel, and lots of salsa."

Samuel L. Jackson Finished With Action Films

The 57 year-old actor told IOL that he doesn’t think that he can compete with 20 year-old actors with stunts.  He says: "I don’t know how much longer I want to be running and jumping, chasing people and shooting at them."

"I don’t want to be going hand-to-hand with some 20-year-old and have people say, ‘He can’t fight a 20-year-old. Homeboy’s got about 20 seconds of real hard fightin’ in him before he’s out of breath and had to rest a minute.’"

Jackson stars in the action film Freedomland, which opens next month.

Elton John Teams with Yamaha

The manufacturer has announced that the new line will be called the Elton John Limited Edition Signature Series Red Piano.

Directly inspired from the red piano that the singer used at his concerts at Las Vegas’ Ceasars Palace, the pianos will be on sale later this year.  Only 50 of the pianos will be made, and will be programmed to play several songs from the successful singer.

Kate Moss To Write Her Story

The star has sold the rights of the story to Richard Branson of Virgin, for the sum of $1.8 million US.

Moss is hoping to reveal what really happened in her life during 2005.  After photographs of the model using cocaine were published, many of her top contracts abruptly ended.  Moss then left England and entered a drug detoxification centre.  She is now hoping to get her life and career back on track, but first must face questions from the police on her return to England.

Marriage Rumours for Nicole Kidman

According to The Sun a source close to Kidman said that she will marry country singer Keith Urban.  The source said, "Nicole is getting married in March. She’s the happiest she’s ever been in her life and doesn’t want a long engagement."

"Keith proposed at Christmas and she was thrilled. They’re happy and in love.", added the friend.

"Nicole’s only inviting close friends and family – she doesn’t want a media circus. They’re discussing venues and are talking about doing it in Australia."

Nicole Kidman was married to actor Tom Cruise from 1990 until 2001.

Jewel’s New Disc Coming in May

Goodbye Alice in Wonderland is said to be her most personal CD yet.  The singer explained, "This is the most autobiographical album I have made since [her 1995 debut] ‘Pieces of You’ and I spent a lot of time sequencing it, so that each song sets up the next, like a novel with a beginning, a middle and an end."

Madonna Prepares Her Tour

Arthur Fogel, the man behind the scenes of Madonna’s shows, is confident that the star will be back on the road in the coming months.

Fogel is the President of TNA International, the company who helped put together the ReInvention Tour in 2004 and the Drowned World Tour in 2002.  The two tours generated more than $200 million in revenues.

In an interview with Billboard magazine, Madonna said she might tour this summer.  She said, "If I go on tour, it would be next summer, and it would be all out disco, with lots of disco balls. I would focus on dance music and the new record. I already did the older stuff on my Re-Invention tour."

Friends to Return

According to IOL, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry will all return to their respective roles.  Each of the stars will be paid $4.5 million to appear in four new episodes of the show, which will appear on NBC later this year.

Paris Hilton Turns Down Playboy

According to Female First, the 24 year-old star turned down the offer from Hugh Hefner, the owner and founder of the well-known men’s magazine.

She says, "They’ve asked me a million times. Hef has been after me since I was 17, and I got offered a lot of money."

She added, "I’ll never do it. Why? Because I’m Paris Hilton."

Although she won’t pose for Playboy, many have already seen Hilton in the nude.  A video called One Night in Paris was released using footage from a sex tape made by one of Hilton’s former boyfriends.

50 Cent Gets Sued

According to the former 2 Live Crew singer, Luther Campbell, 50 Cent copied a portion of his song, It’s Your Birthday, from his 1994 solo album, Still a Freak for Life.

Campbell was deposed in front of a Miami court.  In 2003, the song In Da Club tops the charts for several weeks.
