Owen Wilson Signs for Another Movie

Wilson (Wedding Crashers) will play the title role in the remake of the 1947 classic with Danny Kaye.  In the comedy, Walter Mitty is a dreamer whose imagination allows him to escape his ordinary life.

A new scenario has been written that keeps the same feeling as the original story.  Mark Waters (Mean Girls, Freaky Friday) will direct the project.

Uma Thurman To Be Super Ex

Thurman will play the role of a superhero who falls in love with a normal man.  When their relationship ends, she uses her superpowers to make his life a nightmare.

Luke Wilson will also star in the film, which will be directed by Ivan Reitman (Ghost Busters, Kindergarten Cop).

Cameron Diaz Won’t Be Wonder Woman

According to the Daily Star, the 32 year old feels it is time to change her image.

A source revealed: "An approach was made to Cameron but she turned it down flat.  It was not a firm offer, more that the producers wanted to sound her out as a possibility."

"I think she wants to get away from her ‘Charlie’s Angels’ image and get on with more serious roles", added the source.

The next film starring Cameron Diaz is the romantic comedy In Her Shoes, which opens in October.

Kelly Osbourne Open to Plastic Surgery

According to the magazine Closer, the daughter of singer Ozzy Osbourne has based her decision on the impressive results obtained by her mother, Sharon Osbourne.

Kelly said: "When I get older, I’m getting sucked and tucked. Look at my mother for God’s sake! She looks fabulous and, if she can do it, why can’t I?"

The movie’s production began a year late due to the walkout by director Joe Carnahan, who cited artistic differences with Cruise as the reason for his departure.  Cruise, however, benefitted from the delay, which allowed him to make War of the Worlds with Steven Spielberg.

Brad Pitt Rushed to Hospital

A representative for the 41 year-old actor confirmed that the star checked himself into a Los Angeles hospital on Monday night.

No other details were given regarding the status of Pitt’s health.

Pitt had just returned from a trip to Ethiopia with Angelina Jolie.  He had accompanied her for the adoption of a baby girl.

The representative also added that it is impossible at the moment to determine if Pitt had contracted the illness in Africa.

Mariah Carey Gives a Little More to Her Fans

The star was apparently the victim of a costume accident in which her dress fell apart during a performance.

Fans of the singer got a few moments’ peek before technicians dove for light switch, allowing Carey to cover herself.  She then ran off stage, and returned a few minutes later and continued the show.

Keith Richards Finally Says Yes

The well-known musician will play the father of Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp.

It was Depp who insisted that Richards play the part.  In fact, Depp has said that he molded his character from the image of the famous rocker.

Another star in the film, Billy Nighy, has confirmed that Richards has joined the cast, he said: "I can confirm, Keith Richards will appear in Pirates of the Caribbean 2 or 3. I’m not sure which one, because they are being filmed back to back."

Pirates of the Caribbean was enormously successful in box offices, earning more than 650 million dollars in 2003.  Producers have already announced that two sequels are in the workings.  Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, is expected in theatres in July, 2006.

Michael Jackson In Hot Water Again

Prescient Acquisition Group, a financing company that specializes in acquisitions, has filed a claim against Jackson in the amount of 48 million dollars.

According to the company, the amount was owed by Jackson when the star hired the firm to obtain the rights to a catalogue of songs by the Beatles.

Prescient helped Jackson to refinance a debt of $272 million with the Bank of America last November.  The lawsuit states that Prescient Acquisition Group made $537 million available to Jackson, enough for him to refinance, and also to purchase the rights to the remaining 50% of the Beatles songs.

Sean Penn Escapes Harm

The incident happened in London when the driver of their vehicle took a wrong turn and drove into traffic coming in the opposite direction.  The accident was with another car, in a head-on collision.

Penn and his wife are currently in the English capital for his role in the upcoming film Breaking and Entering.  Luckily, the couple were unharmed.
