Pink Floyd Reunite for Live 8

Roger Waters will be joining Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright for the first time in 24 years, at this concert on July 2 at Hyde Park.

"Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade the G8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increased aid to the third world," explained Pink Floyd’s Dave Gilmour.

He added, "Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context, and if reforming for this concert will help focus attention then it’s got to be worthwhile."

Pink Floyd will be playing along with Madonna, REM, U2, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Coldplay, Robbie Williams, as well as many other artists.

Pitt and Jolie May Work Together Again

The two American stars of the film Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which opens in North America this weekend, want to be hosts of the Live 8 concerts.

However, unlike their movie scenes where they were sharing scenes, this time the actors will be thousands of miles away from  each other.

Brad Pitt would like to host the concert in Philadelphia, while Jolie wants to take part in a European concert.

The Live 8 concerts are taking place in July and will happen simultaneously in six cities, including London, Paris, Philadelphia, Berlin, Edinburgh and Rome.  The concerts are being held before the start of the G8 Summit in Scotland.

Franz Ferdinand Offers Free Music

The songs are being offered from their official website, franzferdinand.org.  The songs available are Evil and a Heathen, I’m Your Villain, What You Meant and You Can Have It So Much Better.

The album will be in stores in the fall.  A spokesman says, "We don’t have a problem with fans getting a sneak preview of the songs. They are all great tracks and it is a good advert for the album."

Nicole Kidman To Be a Penguin

The film, directed by George Miller, gave Kidman a chance to show another of her talents…singing.  "I got to sing a little bit. I’m a penguin. I hope a cute penguin.", said the star.

She also said that she doesn’t have a big role in the film.  "I just did some pieces. I’m a very small role. I’m a big penguin, but a small role."

This is Kidman’s second time to work with Miller.  The filmmaker directed her in the movie Bewitched.

Happy Feet is the story of Mumble (Elijah Wood), a penguin who is desperate to be able to sing. 

The film also features the voices of Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman and Robin Williams.

Happy Feet is expected to be in theatres in November, 2006.

Halle Berry Reunites with Her Ex

According to IMDB, the Catwoman star separated with Ealy last year, when she decided she would never want to marry again.  Now she has had a change of mind.

The Hollywood star, who was married in the past of musician Eric Benet and to baseball player David Justice, feels that she hasn’t had much luck with marriage.

A friend of Berry’s explained to IMDB, "Halle and Michael got back together in late April intent on working out their problems… In the end true love has won out for Halle and Michael."

Madonna Talks About Couplehood

She was quoted in The Sun as saying, "Until you get married you get your own way. Then you suddenly have to think of somebody else before you make decisions. That’s putting your ego in check."

Madonna, who has been married to filmmaker Guy Ritchie for 5 years also revealed another side of the famous couple, "We are opposites. I’m very scheduled. I make lists. I stick to the plan. Guy is Mr. Spontaneous."

The Simpsons Movie On the Way

A representative for the television series The Simpsons confirmed the news to MTV Wednesday.  He added that all the actors who provide the voices for the characters have already signed their contracts.

The production team will be working simultaneously on the television series and the movie.

Nancy Cartwright, who is the voice of Bart Simpson, said that there is no release date scheduled yet for the film.

Hilary Duff Becomes Candie Girl

The star of the film A Cinderella Story will be promoting  a clothing line for the company this fall.

The 17-year-old says, "I am so excited to be the new Candie’s girl. There have been so many cool people that have done (their) ads in the past, and I feel like I am in good company with a lot of really cool people."

The other stars who have been associated with the brand include Kelly Clarkson, Ashlee Simpson, the Dixie Chicks and Destiny’s Child.

Anniversary Gift for Jennifer Lopez

Lopez, who is now on her third marriage, celebrated her anniversary with the Latin singer last Sunday.

The stars, who were involved several years ago as well, shocked Hollywood last year with their secret wedding.  Additionally, the marriage came only four months after the Lopez ended her relationship with actor Ben Affleck.

A family friend says, "It sounds a little odd, but Marc and Jennifer were never really engaged – they just got married. So, to mark their first anniversary, Marc officially proposed, this time presenting Jennifer with an engagement ring from exclusive jeweller-to-the-stars Neil Lane.

"It’s huge, and it sparkles beyond belief. Jennifer was very excited to get it." , the friend added.

Russell Crowe Regrets His Actions

The well-known celebrity talked to Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph about the arrest and pending lawsuit against him.

Crowe said he is ashamed of the incident that took place in the lobby of the Mercer Hotel in New York.

He worried that a conviction could bar him from U.S. employment and the cause of his anger was "the combination of jet lag, loneliness and adrenalin."

" I can’t communicate how dark my life is right now.  I’m in a lot of trouble. I’ll do my best to solve the situation in an honourable way. I’m very sorry for my actions. I will spend the rest of my life if it takes it, trying to make it up with my wife. I’m pleased that my son isn’t able to compute what’s going on at the moment because that would be a heartbreaking thing."
