Kylie Minogue to Have Surgery This Week

The information was confirmed by Terry Blamey, the agent for the 36 year-old star.

According to Blamey, the first tests have revealed that the cancer has not spread through her body.  The surgery will take place at the Cabrini hospital in Melbourne, Australia.

Blamey said, "Kylie Minogue returned to her family’s home in Melbourne with French boyfriend Olivier Martinez following the diagnosis, cancelling the Australian and Asian legs of her Showgirl tour.

The star herself also released a statement.  "My heartfelt thanks to the incredible number of people who have sent messages of love and support over the last two days," she said.

Star Wars Fever Grips the Planet

Everywhere, fans waited patiently for the George Lucas film’s release, and finally the day arrived.

In the United States alone, a study was conducted that revealed that $627 million dollars was lost in productivity for American companies.  The researchers found that 4.8 million workers abandoned their posts for the day to see the conclusion of the series.

Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith reveals to us how Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) left his Jedi world to join the Force, becoming enemies with Darth Vader.

Usher Returns to the Studio

In an interview with MTV, the star said he is now working on the soundtrack for the film Dying for Dolly.

"This time it’s not me — it’s my label, Us Records," he explained. "There will be guest artists on the soundtrack as well. I’ll be producing as well as writing, but most importantly, I’ll be executive-producing."

Without giving too many details, he added that artists Rico Love and the R&B group One Chance will be working with him.

The movie Dying for Dolly will be released in North America on November 23.

Anastasia Consoles Kylie Minogue

Being a breast cancer survivor, Anastasia advised Minogue to adopt a positive attitude to fight the illness.

Anastasia, who was diagnosed in 2003, is certain that Kylie will make it through the battle.  According to her, the first thing to do it to prepare your mind for the fight.

She says, "It’s obviously a huge shock when you get the news. I just couldn’t believe it. I’m sure Kylie’s feeling the same right now, but it’s important to stay positive. "

Trailer for The Da Vinci Code

The movie, inspired by the best-selling book by Dan Brown, is being directed by Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, American Graffiti, Appolo 13), and is scheduled for world-wide release on May 19, 2006.

In addition to Tom Hanks, the cast also includes Audrey Tautou, Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina and Jean Reno.  The film will be primarily shot in Paris.

The Da Vinci Code is the story of a Harvard professor who is decoding drawings found in the Louvre.  He soon finds himself in the middle of a murder mystery.

Big Names to Open for the Rolling Stones

The Black Eyed Peas will begin the tour with the legendary rock group at their concerts on August 21-23 in Boston.

Maroon 5 joins the band on August 26 in Hartford.  The Canadian band, Tragically Hip, will open the show on September 3 in Moncton.

Pearl Jam will share the stage with the Stones on September 28 in Pittsburgh.  That concert will be the first time the two bands have worked together since 1997.

The John Mayer Trio will join the Stones on October 3 in Washington.

Tickets for the tour went on sale last weekend.  More cities will be announced as the tour progresses.

Lindsay Lohan May Join Tom Cruise

The 18 year-old actress who starred in the films Mean Girls and Freaky Friday told Access Hollywood that she’s had a meeting with J.J. Abrams, who is directing the movie.

"I actually met with J.J. Abrams, who is directing (the film)," Lohan told Access Hollywood. "I’m a huge fan of…’Lost’ and ‘Alias,’ so hopefully, we will see what happens. If so, I’ll be in training for a few weeks, putting on some muscles."

"It’s kind of an incredible feeling, I’m scared. If I do ‘Mission: Impossible 3’ that is going to be so exhilarating. I’m so excited, I just can’t wait to do stunts and get all into it."

The next film due out from the young actress is Just My Luck, which is set for release next year.

Bill Murray Taking Time Off

The 54 year-old star revealed to IMDB wants to take some time to mow his grass and read his books.

He says, "Doing all those movies in a row, I didn’t have anything left. At the end of Jim’s movie I was empty, dry as a bone."

The actor also revealed that the filming of the movie The Life Aquatic With Steve was like a prison sentence because it separated him from his family for too long.

He adds, "I’m really looking to cut lawns for the summer. I don’t really want to work at all." Murray also intends to sit back, read books and play the guitar and piano."

Filming on Bond Film Delayed

Producers have announced that they will be moving the film’s production for the Agent 007 flick to Barrandov studios in Prague, instead of Pinewood studios in England, as previously planned.

The actor who will play the lead role in the film is yet unknown.  With this key piece missing, and the recent location change, it seems unrealistic that the movie will be ready for its scheduled November, 2006 release.

The director’s role for Casino Royale has been given to Martin Campbell, who also directed the successful Goldeneye.
