According to the claimed songwriter, Jackson based her song on a song he had written in 1986, which he had played for Jackson, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
Representatives for the singer have not commented on the case.
The former star of the television series Beverly Hills, 90210, chose Paradise Island in the Bahamas for the wedding.
The actor was briefly married to makeup artist Ashlee Petersen. He has been dating Lowde for several years, and they became engaged last spring.
The singer from the group No Doubt made the announcement on MTV.
Only six months after the release of her first solo recording, Love, Angel, Music, Baby, the singer would like to create a new disc sometime before Christmas.
She explained that there are still several songs that didn’t make it onto her first recording.
"Me and Pharrell (Williams) are going in the studio again, and we just started talking about doing a whole ‘nother album with the tracks that never made it on this record and maybe writing a few more," she said. "It’s going to be kind of like ‘part two.’ ", said the star.
According to the band’s official website, the foursome has footage from two live shows earlier this week. The DVD is being directed by Hamish Hamilton, the man who was responsible for two other releases from the group, Elevation: Live From Boston and U2 Go Home: Live From Slane Castle.
No release date has been announced.
The first single from the CD, Incomplete, is already being heard on the radio, and the band is planning to begin touring in July.
Never Gone is a "dual disc", which offers fans behind the scenes clips from the making of the album.

Readers of the magazine Eve voted for the Welsh actress, giving her the title of the celebrity with the most beautiful face and perfect body.
The 35 year-old star won the title over other Hollywood actresses, including Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry, who took second and third place, respectively.
Other stars making the top ten were Elle McPherson, Kate Winslett and Jennifer Lopez.
Filmmaker George Lucas, joined by some of the stars of his latest intergalactic film, spoke on Sunday in Cannes.
In a press conference, the director answered critics who made comments regarding the last two Star Wars films, The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.
Lucas said, "The older ones are loyal to the first three films I made, and they are the ones in control of the media."
"The films that these people don’t like – which are the first two prequels – are fanatically adored by the under 25s."
Revenge of the Sith will be released world wide on May 19.
The actor, who made his directorial debut with the comedy Crazy in Alabama, will direct the film in his native language, Spanish.
The film follows the story of a group of young Spanish kids coming of age during the reign of Franco, just as Banderas did. Franco and his fascist regime ruled Spain from 1933 until his death in 1975.

Like the preceeding releases Supernatural and Shaman, the new disc from the Mexican artist will include several collaborations. Big Boi, from the group OutKast, Mary J. Blige, Los Lonely Boys, the Black Eyed Peas, Sean Paul, Robert Randolph and the guitarist from Metallica, Kirk Hammett, are all on the new CD.
The Hollywood star, who is dating Justin Timberlake, found herself in the tabloids this week, in photographs with another man.
Representatives for the star have stated that the allegations in The Sun are false. The paper has not released a statement.
"Cameron Diaz has today instructed her solicitors Schillings to issue and serve libel proceedings against the publishers of The Sun newspaper," a statement said.
The Diaz/Timberlake couple continues to have problems with reporters. Timberlake is currently pursuing legal actions in an unrelated case against Britain’s News of the World, which printed a story that he cheated on Diaz. His case should be heard in court next October.
