First Images of Heights with Glenn Close

Heights recounts the story of five people in a 24 hour period on a New York autumn day.  Isabel is questioning her marriage to Jonathan.  Her mother Diana (Close), a legendary actress, discovers at the same time the infidelities of her husband, and meets Alec, a young actor living in the same building as Isabel and Jonathan.

The film also stars Elizabeth Banks, James Marsden, Jesse Bradford, Eric Bogosian, Isabella Rossellini, Matt Davis, George Segal, Rufus Wainwright, Andrew Howard, John Light, Denis O’Hare, Michael Murphy and Yolanda Ross.

Paris Hilton, the Sexiest Star in France

The actress and heiress won over two other Americans, Angelina Jolie and Britney Spears, in the survey which was published on Thursday.  Spears, who is expecting her first child, dropped from the number one spot last year.

Actress Ingrid Chauvin is the first French celebrity on the annual list.

Votes were tallied electronically on the FHM internet site from January 25 through March 28.  According to the magazine, more than 210,000 people took part in the survey.

Mariah Carey Wants a Musical on Broadway

The 35 year-old singer recently announced the news to MTV.  She stated that she wrote the story based on her album, and wrote two new songs as well.

Carey said: "I’m such a festive person, and I love Christmas. I’m so over the top with it that this is a bit much, but it’s perfect for me."

"I think it’s going to be fun and something families can go to see."

Velvet Revolver Joins OzzFest

Fans of the most important rock festival in the world, OzzFest, are happy to learn that Velvet Revolver will join the show for the last 7 performances of the tour.

Velvet Revolver is made up of former members of Stone Temple Pilots, Guns N’ Roses and Wasted Youth.  They will begin touring with OzzFest on August 23 in New Mexico.

New Love Nest for Nick and Jessica

Although there have been recent rumours about a breakup, the two lovers and stars of MTV’s Newlyweds, have purchased a new home.  Their future apartment will be at the Palms Place, which is still under construction, but will be finished in two years.

The new apartments in Las Vegas range in price from $500,000 to 7 million dollars.  The cost for the Lachey-Simpson residence hasn’t been announced.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise Make a Pair

After a brief time of being single for Tom Cruise, it’s new love again.  His representative has confirmed that the 42 year-old actor is dating Katie Holmes.

The two were photographed recently holding hands in Rome.  At the moment, the rumour machine is working overtime.

However, it seems that this time the rumours were true.  A representative for Homes also confirmed the news. 

Tom Cruise was possibly the most eligible batchelor in the world, after his 2001 divorce from Nicole Kidman.  He split with Spanish actress Penelope Cruz in March, 2004. 

For Holmes, she recently ended her engagement and five year relationship with actor Chris Klein.  She was also dating actor Josh Hartnett recently.

Julia Roberts Always Among the Most Beautiful

The annual survey conducted by American magazine People will reveal on Friday the 50 most beautiful celebrities, and Julia Roberts will be on the cover for the third time.

Roberts, 37, who gave birth to twins last year, has made the list again this year for the ninth time.  Halle Berry, who is also on this year’s list, has been featured 10 times.

Among the other stars chosen by People are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who have been in several tabloids recently regarding their possible romantic relationship.

In addition to the celebrities themselves, couples were also listed this year, such as Heidi Klum and her fiance Seal, Penelope Cruz and Matthew McConaughey, and Jude Law and Sienna Miller.

Naomi Campbell Fighting Poverty

The British model will assist Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, in his efforts to attract tourists to his country by selling We Love Brazil t-shirts.

The star revealed that the shirts will be on sale in airports and in stores.  Profits will be given to organizations helping underprivileged children.

Naomi Campbell states that Brazil is her second home.

Americans Believe Michael Jackson is Guilty

According to a Gallup poll published Tuesday, 70% of Americans think that the allegations against Jackson are "probably or definitely true." Only 15% of the respondants found that the charges were "probably or definitely not true."

These results demonstrate that in fact more people are believing that the singer is innocent.  In a former survey 75% of the respondants believed that the charges were "probably or definitely true."

The singer is facing charges of sexual abuse of a 13 year old child.  This trial has to be one of the most media covered trials in the United States.

Rob Thomas Makes History

Thomas, is the lead singer in the group Matchbox.  His album Something to Be is at the top of the Billboard charts in America.  He has now overpassed Mariah Carey on the top 200.

Another added feature to Thomas’ success, is that his album is the first recording to be done on DualDisc, meaning a CD and a DVD, being at the top of the charts.
