Jennifer Lopez Cancels European Tour

The star was to be in Europe to promote the release of her new disc and for the premier of her new movie in London.

A statement from Jen said: "I very much wanted to be in London today but unfortunately I’m not well. At the advice of my doctors I’m unable to travel."

The 35 year old star added, "Being sick has also caused me to cancel my European album tour. Please accept my sincerest apologies as I have to remain in Los Angeles."

Lopez was to be in London for the opening of her movie Shall We Dance, with co-star Richard Gere.  The movie opens there on Friday.

The new CD of the singer, Rebirth will be in stores in the beginning of March.

Ashley Olsen’s Lawsuit: $40 Million!

Access Hollywood has learned that this is the colossal amount that the young star, 18, is asking from the magazine National Enquirer and it’s parent company American Media, Inc.

A representative for the defendents stated, "We stand by the accuracy of the published information and intend to vigorously defend the lawsuit."

The young woman is furious regarding an article published by the tabloid alleging that she is involved in a drug scandal.  The story also included a photo of the star, implying that she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  The defendents stated that they have documents linking a former boyfriend of the star, Scott Sartiano, to drug trafficking.

Singer Kid Rock Arrested

The incident happened after a fight in Nashville.  The star is accused of squabbling with a disc jockey at a night club.

Video images taken by surveillance cameras show red marks on the DJ’s face and holding broken glasses.

Kid Rock is formally accused of simple assault which could mean a year in prison.  He appeared earlier today before a judge.

When he left court, the singer stated, "Everything is beautiful.  It was a wonderful night."

Lindsay Lohan Barbie Doll Being Made

It is toy maker Mattel, inventor of the Barbie, who will manufacture and sell the doll, made in the image of the star of Mean Girls.

The doll has red hair, and she wears a dress with a fur collar to follow the stylish reputation of the star.

The actress, 18, in currently in New Orleans filming Just My Luck.

Nicolas Cage and Wife Expecting

The baby will be the first for Kim, and the second child for the star.  Cage is already the father of a son born in 1992, from his previous relationship with model Kristina Fulton.

The expecting couple were married last summer in California.  They met when the star dined at the sushi restaurant where Kim, 20, was a waitress.  The actor invited her to be his date for the Oscars.

Cage is currently in Australia for the filming of Ghost Rider.

Michael Jackson Hospitalized on His Way to Court

The judge for Jackson’s trial made the announcement, but did not reveal the reasons for his hospitalization.

This event has stopped the jury selection that was scheduled to continue today.

The star was taken to Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria.

Jackson faces 10 charges of sexual molestation of a minor.

More details should be known later today.

Pierce Brosnan Wanted $42 Million to Play Bond

British website Contactmusic.com reported that the 51 year old Irish actor made the astronomical demand of the producers for the role of the secret agent in the film Casino Royale.

The producers have decided to pass on Brosnon in favor of finding a new actor to play the role of 007.

Brosnan says he was "surprised, disappointed and saddened" when he found out the producers’ decision.

The star claims his wage "was an honest fee in terms of how much blood, sweat and tears I put into the role".

Nicole Kidman Available Again

Daily paper, The Sun, says friends of the star say Kidman would end the relationship with the millionaire if he wouldn’t marry her.

The actress, 37, made her decision after four months with Bing, ending this past January.

Citing the same sources, the paper confirms, "In fact, he is proud of it. She told him there was no future in the relationship and said she wanted a break."

Kidman has never hidden the fact that she wants to remarry after her first marriage, to actor Tom Cruise ended.  Cruise and Kidman adopted two children together.

She began dating Bing after being introduced to him at a Hollywood party last year.  The producer is also the father of the son of British model and actress Liz Hurley.

Celebrity Witnesses for Michael Jackson

The star’s attorney, Thomas Mesereau, has mentioned that several stars could be called to testify at Jackson’s trial.  Those celebrities include singer Diana Ross, musician Quincy Jones, basketball champion Kobe Bryant, Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, and his brother Aaron Carter, illusionist Uri Geller, talk show hosts Larry King and Jay Leno, and actor Chris Tucker.

The long and complex process of jury selection continued today, and is expected to last for another few weeks.

The 12 jurors selected will decide if the star, 46, is guilty or not guilty on the 10 charges of sexual assault on a 13 year old boy.  If he is found guilty, Jackson could face up to 20 years in prison.

Jennifer Lopez Makes Controversy

The expectations were great for the new ready-to-wear clothing line of the star.  After the first part of the show didn’t bring much applause, the second half resulted in good reactions. 

However, the choice of materials used in her clothing line did not have everyone in agreement.  Lopez loves fur, and her new collection contains a lot of fur.

"Jennifer is a great lover of fur," said Charlie Ross, US director of marketing for Saga, which made Lopez’s Sweetface label.
"Sweetface is a luxury label and Jennifer wanted her furs."
"She told me her favourite piece is a bleached silver fox coat with strips of the fox stitched on to a chiffon back."

Such a collection has aroused much controversy, since many large distributors don’t want to carry clothing made with fur.

The new collection, Sweetface, is more expensive than her previous clothing line, JLo, that was launched for the first time in 2001.  Since that time, the star has broadened her brand name to include perfumes and lingerie.
