Paris Hilton Furious with Playboy

The hot star of The Simple Life has not been happy since being named "Sex Star of the Year" by Playboy.

The star was further shocked to see herself in the magazine without having given consent.

The picture adorning the magazine is an old shot which was taken for the magazine in the past, and the magazine owns the rights to the photo.

A representative for the star stated, "Paris hasn’t approved anything."

E.T.: The Saddest Moment in the Theatre

Nearly 70,000 people who participated in the survey by the British Channel 4 in England, have chosen the moment where E.T. says goodbye to Elliott to return to his space ship, as the saddest moment in film history.

The Spielberg film, shown in 1982, received more votes than other films, such as The Green Mile and Titanic.

U2 Makes Apology to Fans

The drummer for the group, Larry Mullen, Jr., made an apology on behalf of the group for the many fans who were unable to purchase tickets for their recent world tour.

Mullen had previously given an explanation to the press, stating that computer problems were the reason that fans were unable to purhase tickets via the internet.

When the band was brought on stage to receive the award for BEST ROCK PERFORMANCE, the drummer made his statement.

He said, "Due to circumstances beyond our control a lot of our long-suffering fans ended up queuing overnight and didn’t get tickets and I’d just like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the band, to apologise to them."

The U2 world tour begins on March 28 in San Diego, California.  In most cases, tickets for the first announced cities were sold out within minutes.

Aviator and Vera Drake take BAFTAs

The Aviator directed by Martin Scorsese, won four awards, including BEST FILM.  Cate Blanchett also took the award for BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS. 

During the evening, Vera Drake earned three awards, including BEST DIRECTOR going to Mike Leigh, and Imelda Staunton, for BEST ACTRESS.

Among other awards at the formal ceremony Saturday night, Jamie Foxx was presented with the BEST ACTOR trophy for his performance in the autobiography Ray.  The BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR award was given to Brit, Clive Owen, for his role in Closer.

Lindsay Lohan Hospitalized Again

Lohan, star of film Mean Girls, was hospitalized last year for chest pain.

The doctors had diagnosed extreme fatigue, and had prescribed a few weeks of rest.

It seems that her very busy schedule, combined with family difficulties, (her parents are presently going through a divorce), would be the reason for this admittance to the hospital.

The 18 year old star is presently filming Just My Luck.  Her working days can be 17 hours long.

Britney Spears Displays Her Love

The star published a message addressed to her husband Kevin Federline for Valentine’s Day.

"I fall more and more in love with Kevin every day," she wrote. "We’ve been away from each other for a week now and I think I’m losing my mind! It’s the longest we’ve been apart from one another."

Spears added that her husband’s busy schedule had been the reason for this separation.

She further revealed that she had spent the last little few days at her family’s home in Kentwood, Louisiana with her mother.  During this time, Federline did a photo shoot for the next issue of the magazine Details.

"The pictures are so hot!" Spears bragged. "Stay away girls!"   The shots can be seen in the March issue.

Courtney Love on Probation for Three Years

By making a deal with the prosecution, Courtney Love will avoid prison.

Love, 40, will be forced to go through detox, take an anger management/violence workshop and pay a $1000.00 fine.

The star was also sentenced to 18 months of  probation for possesion of OxyContin, a strong analgesic, and for possession of a false prescription.

Mick Jaggar Supports London 2012

This rocker is one of the stars  representing and promoting London’s candidacy for obtention of the Olympic Games in 2012.

The singer will be the ambassador of culture for London.  He will be in a promotional video for the city that will be submitted to the International Olympic Committee next week.

London is competing against New York, Madrid and Paris for the 2012 Games.

Reebok Hires Several Celebrities

According to the New York Post, the I Am What I Am campaign aims to target the youth population.

A Reebok spokesperson said the ads would present "icons who could express a point of view or dispel a certain myth or perception."

The commercials will begin during the allstar basketball match (NBA) on February 20.
