Paris Hilton May Have Been Stealing

According to the American television show Celebrity Justice, Hilton left a video store with the video One Night in Paris without paying.  This video featured sexual scenes between Hilton and an ex-boyfriend.

A spokesperson from the Sheriff’s office confirmed that there was an ongoing investigation. "There was an incident, and she is alleged to have taken something," Sheriff’s Deputy Steve Suzuki said without disclosing further details.

"She threw her 80 cents change at me and took the video and said, ‘I’m taking this and I’m not buying it’," Suzuki said.

The Prosecutor’s office of Los Angeles has taken the case.  They will determine if the rich actress will be accused of theft.

U2 Announces Concert Dates

The Vertigo/2005 World Tour will start March 28 in San Diego.  The group will visit 13 other North American cities before heading to Brussels in June to debut its European tour.

Audrey Tautou Chosen for the Da Vinci Code

According to Le Parisien, Tautou was selected among many candidates including Sophie Marceau, Juliette Binoche, Vanessa Paradis, Sandrine Bonnaire, Marion Cotillard, Judith Godrèche, Virginie Ledoyen, Elsa Zylberstein, Amira Casar, Anna Mouglalis, Julie Delpy and Linda Hardy.

Tautou will play the part of Sophie Neveu, French Cryptologist.  She will act with Tom Hanks, who plays a Harvard Professor, Robert Langdon, who is trying to crack the Da Vinci code in the Louvre in Paris.

The director, Ron Howard, who has done Apollo 13 and The Grinch, has confirmed that Jean Reno will play the part of Bézu Fache, the Chief of the French Police.

Audrey Taotou is known for her work in Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain and Un Long Dimanche de Fiançailles.

This Howard film will be based on the book The Da Vinci Code, written by Dan Brown, that sold more than 16 million copies in more than 40 countries.

The filming will begin very soon for a world premiere on May 19, 2006.

Death of Talk Show Host Johnny Carson

This celebrity that hosted The Tonight Show on NBC for 30 years died Sunday morning in his Malibu residence.

Carson retired in 1992, and Jay Leno took over The Tonight Show after he left.

President George W. Bush did a tribute to Carson and stated that Carson "had a profound influence on American life and entertainment."

He added, "Johnny Carson was a steady and reassuring presence in homes across America for three decades."

Shwarzenegger Doing Talks for Terminator 4

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the actor, now politician, may come back to make a brief appearance in his T-800 Model 101 for another science-fiction film.

Nonetheless, Schwarzenegger has mentioned that he would not do the movie if it was not filmed in California.

Up to now the producers were targetting Budapest as the filming location.  The script is nearly complete, and filming may begin before the end of the year.

First Commercial for Corpse Bride

This animated film, produced by Warner Bros., is the first animated movie directed by Tim Burton since his successful movie Nightmare Before Christmas in 1993.

In its original version the movie features the voices of Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Emily Watson and Christopher Lee among others.

The story takes place in the 19th century in a European village, where Victor, (Johnny Depp), discovers the world after unintentionally marrying a mysterious corpse bride (Helena Bonham Carter).

U2 Announces World Tour

According to Billboard magazine, the group’s Vertigo Tour will begin March 28 in the Sports Arena in San Diego.

For the first part of the world tour the opening band will be Kings of Leon.

More information will be released Monday.

According to Billboard, the North American part of the tour will be about two months in length.  Thirty concert dates are foreseen for Europe, starting in June.  At the end of August, U2 will return to the U.S. for another thirty concerts across the country.

The average price for a ticket is approximately $90.00. 

U2 will also be doing a performance at the Grammy Awards on February 13.  They have a few nominations for their album Vertigo.

Renee Zellweger and Charlize Theron at the Oscars

Zellweger won the Oscar last year for best supporting actress in the movie Cold Mountain.

Charlize Theron won for best actress for 2003, for her performance in Monster.

The Oscars will be held on February 27 in Hollywood.

The Creator of Spiderman Wins His Case

A judge has ordered that Marvel give 10% of their income from movies, DVDs, Spiderman products etc. to Stan Lee.

The profits gained through the movies will be approximately 1.6 billion dollars.

Lee, 82, created Spiderman in 1962.  He has had this lawsuit against Marvel unresolved since 2002.  He was working for Marvel for 60 years.

Lee also collaborated in the creation of the Superheroes Hulk, Daredevil, X-Men and Fantastic Four.  All of these characters have been or will be featured in films.

Lee expressed, "I am gratified by the judge’s decision although, since I am deeply fond of Marvel and the people there, I sincerely regret that the situation had to come to this."

Marvel announced that they would appeal the decision.

Robert Redford at the Opening of the Sundance Film Festival

Redford founded the Sundance Film Festival in 1981 to be an independent film festival, although critics would now say that it has been invaded by Hollywood celebrities.

There are sixteen films presented in each of the categories of competition.  For the first time, an award will be given out to the best foreign documentary.  There will be twelve competing for this award.

Sundance has had successful films presented such as Reservoir Dogs, The Blair Witch Project, Thirteen, The Full Monty and Transpotting.

The festivities opened up this year with a film Happy Endings, featuring Lisa Kudrow.
