The Aviator Flies at the Golden Globes

The biography of the life of an eccentric millionaire Howard Hughes won a Globe for best drama. best actor (Leonardo DiCaprio), and best film.

This 62nd annual event held in Los Angeles also awarded the movie Sideways (which had the most nominations, 7), 2 awards, one of which was for best comedy.

The movie Million Dollar Baby, done by Clint Eastwood, won awards for best directing while playing a secondary part in the film.  Hilary Swank won a Globe for best actress in a drama.

Actress Annette Bening won a Globe for best actress in a comedy in the movie Being Julia.  Jamie Foxx won the same Globe for best actor in the autobiography Ray.

Snoop Dog Working With Pony

Pony International is ready to launch The Snoop Dogg Doggy Biscuitz.  This is taken from the rapper’s name, and he would like to give this same name to his shoes.

Among the styles available, a shopper can find:  the Snoopadoopa (an everyday shoe), the Snoopafly (athletic shoes, mainly Basketball style), and the Snoopalicious (for Businessmen).

This line of footwear will be available all over the world in March.

Alicia Keyes Singing at Super Bowl

Following the scandal from last year’s Super Bowl, Janet Jackson’s nipplegate, the organizers decided to offer a more tranquil show.

Alicia Keyes was invited and will be accompanied by 150 students from st-Augustine School in Florida.

"I’m very excited to be playing at the Super Bowl for the first time, especially because I will be singing a song made famous by an artist I admire, miss and respect."

In fact, America the Beautiful was made a hit by Ray Charles on his 1972 album A Message From the People.  The late Ray Charles also performed this song at a former Super Bowl.

Edward Norton Turns into a Magician

Norton will play the role of a magician madly in love.  This dramatic love story takes place at the end of the 19th century in Vienna, and tells the story of Norton who falls in love with a young woman with a different social class standing.  The young lady is supposed to marry a Prince.

Filming of The Illusionist will be beginning next April in Prague.

Jean Reno Acting with Tom Hanks

The French actor will play the part of the detective Bezu Fache in a movie directed by Ron Howard (Apollo 13, The Grinch).

Tom Hanks is the leading actor in the movie based upon the best-seller by Dan Brown.  Hanks will play the Harvard Professor, Robert Langdon.

Howard is now trying to find a French actress to play the part of Sophie Neveu who assists Langdon (Hanks) in his search in the Louvre in Paris.  Some of the possible candidates for this part could be:  Audrey Tatou, Virginie Ledoyen, Ludivine Sagnier and Julie Delpy.

The mystery in The Da Vinci Code lies in the hints found within the paintings of Leonardo Da Vinci.  These codes could disclose secrets of upmost importance to the Catholic Church and Christianity.

Brad Pitt Keeps Away From the Media

This Hollywood star is promoting his movie Ocean’s Twelve, but did not want to do any interviews with the numerous journalists.  He is avoiding all questions related to his recent separation.

According to a local that witnessed the interrogation Brad Pitt underwent, the journalists were very direct and intrusive with their questions.

This questioning is all following a separation that was announced last weekend between Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt, after four years of marriage.

10 Million for Montreal Jazz Festival

The five year contract guarantees 10 million dollars for the Jazz Festival.  This is during a period where cultural and sporting events have large difficulties budgeting.

The 26th annual International Jazz Festival will be on this year from June 30 – July 10, 2005.

Two More Actors for Superman Returns

Director Bryan Singer chose these two actors because he knows them well.        He directed James Marsden in the movie X-MEN, when the actor played the role of the Cyclops.  In Superman Returns, Marsden will play the part of Richard White, the new flame of Lois Lane, played by Kate Bosworth. 

Hugh Laurie is the star from the television series House that Singer produced on the American Network FOX.  In the new adventure of Superman, Laurie will play Perry White, the head editor at the Daily Planet.   Brandon Routh will play Clark Kent/Superman, Kevin Spacey will do Lex Luthor and Kate Bosworth will play Lois Lane.

The filming of Superman Returns begins next February in Australia, and will be in theatres in June 2006.

Disney preparing the Return of Tron

The movie Tron, directed by Steven Lisberger, was a very innovative film of its time.  It started in black and white, and was then in colour.

This science-fiction movie tells the story of a computer game, and a world of computers.

The new script was given to Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal who have a great idea for the next scene. "We are contemporizing it, taking these ideas that were ahead of the curve and applying them to the present, and we feel the film now has a chance to resonate with a young audience," said Klugman.

In its new concept, Tron 2 will likely go from video game to Internet.

Geri Halliwell Rented for $942 000

Wealthy Dickie Lugner will be accompanied by the singer to an Opera Ball, held on February 3, in Vienna, Austria.

The rich businessman commented, "I’m proud to have such a star guest as Ginger Spice, who has made such a successful career for herself," said a proud Dickie. I chose Geri because of her wonderful smile."

Each year Lugner pays a celebirty to accompany him to this event.  In the past he has been accompanied by Grace Jones, Sophia Loren, Pamela Anderson and the Duchess of York.
