Remake of Casablanca in Demand

Casablanca was written by David Rambo in 1942, and will be presented at Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles on April 3, to raise money for the Actor’s Fund of America.

According to the New York Post, many celebrities would like to have the opportunity to play in this all time classic.

Annette Benning confirmed taking the part of Ilsa Lund that was played in the original movie by Ingrid Bergman.

Harrison Ford and Jack Nicholson are both hoping for the same part, Rick Blaine, which was played in the original by Humphrey Bogart.

Casablanca won three Oscars in 1942, one of which was for best film.

Tsunami Aid: Impressive List of Celebrities

The benefit event to help the victims of the Tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia will be diffused in America by NBC, Saturday at 8:00 pm.

The performances will be coming from Los Angeles, New York and London.  They will feature Maroon 5, Norah Jones, Lenny Kravitz, John Mayer, Kenny Chesney and Eric Clapton.

Other celebrities such as Halle Berry, Kevin Spacey, Usher, George Clooney, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas and Uma Thurman have also indicated they will be present.

Brad Pitt Wanted Children

According to the London newspaper The Sun, which cited friends of the couple, Pitt was demanding a baby by the end of the year.  The 41 year old husband did not want to wait any longer.

Aniston, 35, did not want to put her career on hold at this time.  The couple decided to put an end to their four year marriage.

According to the same newspaper, Brad Pitt’s desire to have children was influenced by his co-star, Angelina Jolie, in the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Jolie brought her three year old son Maddox to the set every day of filming.  Pitt spent his free time playing with the boy.

According to other sources, there was a relationship brewing between Pitt and Jolie that was at the root of the separation.

The tabloid News of the World states that Jolie and Pitt were leaving steamy messages to each other.  Aniston discovered these messages, and it led to the separation.

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston met in 1998.  They were married in 2000, in an in an intimate wedding in Malibu, California.

Green Day Gives to Red Cross

Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong and the group, decided to give the money from the legal downloading of the song Boulevard of Broken Dream from iTunes to the victims.

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong  says, "This is the worst global disaster we’ve seen in our lifetimes. We felt it was important to take part in the relief efforts any way we could."

Nicole Kidman Visits Victims in Asia

According to a spokesperson from UNICEF, the actress will be accompanied on her trip, by her sister Antonia.

"My sister and I are going to go," Kidman said Friday on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.  "Obviously it still needs an enormous amount of attention."

Kidman has been the ambassador of UNICEF since 1994.

Halle Berry finally divorced

The 38 year old actress will keep her house in Beverly Hills, while the R & B singer lives in San Fernando, California.

Benet contested the pre-nuptial agreement, and tried to get a financial compensation, although it was refused.

The couple was married three years, and has been separated since October 2003.

It would be the second divorce for the actress, who was also married to baseball player David Justice.

Matthew McConaughey in an New Comedy

McConaughey (U-571, A Time to Kill, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days), will play a man whose parents are trying to find love for him, and get him out of the house.

This romantic comedy will start filming next October, directed by Tom Dey (Shanghai Noon).  Until then, McConaughey will be playing in Sahara with Penelope Cruz, coming out this Spring.

First Advertisement for The Ring 2

The new adventure in The Ring 2 takes place six months after the first movie.  Naomi Watts is still playing the journalist, Rachel Keller.  Keller finds herself with her son in the midst of a story of a death caused by a mysterious videocassette.

The Ring 2 will be in theatres in North America on March 18, 2005.  The firrst movie brought in more than 230 million dollars in 2002.

Julia Roberts Wants to Do a Movie on Maternity

According to the New York Post, the actress gave birth last November to twins, Phinnaeus Walter and Hazel Patricia.  She is trying to obtain rights on the bestseller The Family Way, written by Tony Parsons.

The British author’s publicist told a New York newspaper:  "Things are at an advanced stage. No contracts have been signed as yet, but we are currently in talks with Revolution Studios, with whom Julia has a deal."

Franz Ferdinand ahead for Brit Awards

The group, originally from Glasgow, Scotland, has been nominated for 5 awards for the award show that recognizes the work of British musical artists.

The Streets, Snow Patrol, Kasabian and Muse, each received four nominations.  Natasha Bedingfield, Jamelia and Keane have gotten three.

The 25th Brit Awards will be held in Earls Court, London on February 9.
