Rumours of a Stones Tour

The Stones guitarist, Ronnie Wood, seems to be the source of the tour rumours.  However, it’s not Wood himself who has been doing the talking, it’s his new girlfriend, Ekaterina Ivanova.

According to the young Russian woman, the rock veterans are planning to tour next year.  A source revealed to Britain’s The Sun, "She’s not supposed to talk about it, things haven’t been finalised but she couldn’t resist telling a few friends."

The reports of a tour are still rumours, and haven’t been confirmed by any official member of the Stones camp.

The last time the Rolling Stones toured was in 2007.  The performances were a huge success and brought in $500 million in ticket sales.

Today (November 26) marks the 40th anniversary of the release of the album Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out!, which was recorded at Madison Square Garden in New York.  To commemorate the disc’s release, a deluxe edition box set will be available on November 30.

Eurostar Celebrates 15 Years

Since November 14, 1994, Eurostar has carried more than 100 million passengers across the Channel.

This high speed train now holds over 80% of the market between Paris and London with its 18 trains, but also between London and Brussels with 10 trains.  This impressive result is attributable largely to the regularity of the Eurostar, which displays a punctuality rate of 96%.

Despite this success, the Eurostar is expected to undergo great upheavals in the coming months.  A deregulation of the rail sector in Europe is coming in 2010. To face this new challenge, Eurostar plans to reduce the number of transports next winter.

Eurostar management is considering establishing an intermediate class on the trains. Currently, the famous train offers the Business Premier, Leisure Select and Standard class.

Another project underway, Eurostar is currently working with the renowned Italian design firm Pininfarina to redesign its cars. These new cars should be made between 2012 and 2015.

The energetic only girl in the band told The Advocate magazine that she loves to occasionaly share her bed with women.

The 34-year-old star, who is married to actor Josh Duhamel (Transformers), isn’t hiding this particular aspect of her private life.  "I think women are beautiful," she says.  "I’ve had a lot of fun with women, and I’m not ashamed of it."

However, Fergie pointed out that bisexuality is not a free ticket for having romances outside of her marriage.  She explained, "But just because I enjoy women doesn’t mean I’m allowed to have affairs in my relationship."

It seems that Fergie’s sex drive may not be easy to manage.  "I learned through talking with my therapist that it is still cheating even if it’s with girls, so there is a rule there."

The telling interview is very interesting, considering that it comes just after her husband was accused of cheating on his wife with a stripper.   However, Fergie, who married Duhamel in January, gave the interview before the scandal broke.

Madonna Stirs Anger in Malawi

The American singer, who adopted to children from the African country, has once again brought discord to the people of Malawi.

This time, some 140 Malawians are insisting that their government stop Madonna’s plans to build a new school.  The people claim that the site of the school was sold to Madonna for a less-than appropriate price.

For the past month, construction has been underway in Malawi.  If the plans for the school go well, Madonna has pledged to finance other schools in the country.  When it opens its doors in two years, the school will welcome 500 young girls from 28 districts.  The whole project is estimated to cost $15 million.

Opponents of the project are not against the construction of the school itself, but rather the fact that the land should have been sold for a higher price.  The government contends that the land was sold for a fair market value price.

In 2006, Madonna adopted a 13-month-old baby boy, David Banda, from the country.  Last June, she adopted a second child, a four-year-old girl named Mercy James.

Malawi is facing a serious problem of orphans, as 13 million children have lost parents to AIDS.
