Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher’s Big Scare

The two stars were aboard a plane for Las Vegas, where Kutcher was going to promote his new film, Spread.

Several minutes after take-off, the pilot noticed the engine was overheating and turned back to make an emergency landing. Luckily, nobody was injured.

The 31-year-old actor commented on the incident on Twitter, "My plane just had to do an emergency landing. Engine over heated. Happy to be alive."

Moore, 46, published a photo of the plane and laughed saying, "Yep it is always an adventure in Vegas emergency landing and all."

Miley Cyrus Has a Stalker

Mark McLeod was arrested near Savannah, Georgia, after attempting to get to Miley Cyrus on the set of her new film.

The 53-year-old man was also arrested in June under similar circumstances.  The court ordered McLeod to stop any attempts to contact the 16-year-old actress or her family.

Cyrus, who is currently filming The Last Song for Disney, has been McLeod’s target for several months.  The man claim’s that Cyrus accepted his marriage proposal 18 months ago, and even insists that the star’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, approves of their relationship.

Honda rappelle 50 000 voitures au pays

Le constructeur japonais doit rappeler les modèles 2001 et 2002 des Honda Accord, Civic et Acura EL ainsi que les Acura TL 2002 et 2003. 

Ces voitures présentent une défectuosité liée aux coussins gonflables. Un défaut de fabrication du système de gonflage a pour effet d’entraîner une rupture du dispositif, des éclats métalliques étant alors projetés lors du déploiement du coussin. 

Ce genre d’incident a déjà causé un accident mortel et quelques blessures ont été rapportées.

Dave Grohl Forms Supergroup

The former Nirvana drummer has formed a supergroup along with Josh Homme of the Queens of The Stone Age and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin.

According to NME, the supergroup trio is called Them Crooked Vultures. They have already recorded several songs in a Los Angeles studio.

Their first public appearance is scheduled for Sunday, August 9 at the Metro in Chicago.

A website has also been launched by the supergroup and fans can follow the evolution of the group on Twitter.

Sharon Osbourne’s Success Secret

The wife of Ozzy Osbourne, and America’s Got Talent judge revealed to Psychologies magazine that her lack of beauty is the key to her success.

Osbourne believes that if she would have been born a beauty, her life would have turned out differently.  She explained, "My achievements are down to my looks, or lack of them. I was fat, short, hairy. I’m not putting myself down – that’s the truth."

She added, "I didn’t have any talent, either, and I left school with barely a single qualification. If I’d been pretty, my life would probably have been very different….(I had to) develop a brain and personality and be fun and smart and learn to get on with people and make deals."

The star also took the opportunity to announce that she is currently writing her first novel, entitled Revenge.  She has already published two autobiographies.

Tommy Hilfiger Welcomes a Son

Sebastian Thomas Hilfiger was born yesterday (August 4).  He is the fifth child of the well-known designer, and the third child for Dee.  The mother and baby are both doing well.

Hilfiger, 57, has been the head of his own design firm since 1984.  He and Dee have been married for three years.

Beyonce Headlines F1 Rocks

Formula 1 has added a music festival to their sport activity. The first F1 Rocks event will take place next month on the sidelines of the Singapore grand prix.

Singer Beyonce will headline this first music event. In addition to the 27-year-old singer, F1 Rocks will also feature the Black Eyed Peas, Simple Minds, ZZ Top, N*E*R*D and Chinese pop star Jacky Cheung.

F1’s Bernie Ecclestone announced the news in London yesterday. He said, "It’s exciting. It’s something we’ve been talking about doing for an awful long time… Now we’ve got the right partners to do this and we’re very, very confident."

The first F1 Rocks will be aired in 188 countries.

Paula Abdul Quits American Idol

After eight years as a judge on American Idol, Paula Abdul, 47, is bowing out.

The star announced her decision on Twitter, "With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return." Abdul did not offer any reason for her departure after weeks of speculation.

She was pleased with the success of the TV show. "I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent but, most of all, being a part of a show that I helped from day one become an international phenomenon," said Abdul.

Over the years, American Idol has discovered talented artists that include Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks and Chris Daughtry.
