Hilary Swank To Play a New York Attorney

Swank is going to play the main character from Emily Griffin’s book, released in 2005.

The Oscar-winning star of Million Dollar Baby and Boys Don’t Cry, will take on the role of a Manhattan lawyer who falls in love with her best friend’s fiancé, just after she celebrates her thirtieth birthday.

According to Variety, the contract between Swank and her partner and the author, also includes the rights to the book’s sequel, "Something Blue."

Hilary Swank’s latest project is Amelia, where she shares the screen with Richard Gere and Ewan McGregor. The film is expected to be released in a little over a year.  The project is currently shooting in Canada.

Genesis Albums Get a Touch Up

A 7 CD/6 DVD set will be released on November 11, including five old albums remixed with 5.1 DTS, and an hour of never-before-released material.

The collection will include a Belgian television appearance from 1972, among several other live performances.  There will also be a section called Extras 1970-1975.  This period was one of the most popular times for Genesis, but also one of the least documented.

Fall Out Boy To Release Next Disc

To celebrate the album’s release, taking place on the same day as the United States presidential election, the band released a demo track entitled Welcome to the New Administration, earlier this week.

On September 15, fans can listen to the album’s first single, I Don’t Care. 

More than a year has passed since Fall Out Boy’s last release, Infinity on High.  To promote their new material, the band hits the road in October.  The first concert of their tour will take place on October 13 in Paris.

Paris Hilton Duets with Boyfriend

Even though her first disc was not so hot, Paris Hilton is not giving up on music. However, this time, the heiress is relying on the talents of her Good Charlotte boyfriend, guitarist Benji Madden.

According to Hollyscoop, the blonde has begun working on her second disc. She confirmed that her boyfriend collaborated with her, saying, “Well, actually I have a studio at the house. He [Benji] actually helped me write some of the songs for my new album. He’s a really amazing talent, songwriter and singer."

When asked if the duet would end up on the disc, she replied, "Yes, definitely."

Her first disc, entitled Paris, was released in 2006. The first single, Stars Are Blind, did get some play on the dance floors.

More Legal Dilemmas for Tom Cruise

According to a report from FemaleFirst, 12 extras who worked on Cruise’s upcoming film, Valkyrie, are suing the star and his company with allegations of work-related injuries on the set.

Last year, during the shoot of the film in Germany, 12 extras were injured, ranging from a simple cut to broken bones, when one of the side panels of a military truck became detached.

All of the hurt actors were transported to the hospital, where they were treated. One of them had to be kept under observation for four days.

Ariane Bluttner, the attorney representing the actors, claims that the truck was not properly secured. She stated, "The studio knew the trucks were not safe. There had even been an internal memo about the railings."

Are Moisturizing Creams Safe?

A study published by the Journal of Investigative Dermatology showed that certain moisturizers caused cancer in mice exposed to ultraviolet rays.

These findings are being disputed by several cosmetics companies. One of the brands, Beiersdorf, the owner of Nivea and Eucerin, said that no incident with humans has been reported, and that the comparison between the skin of mice and of humans has not been established. 
 
Beiersdorf says that the adverse effects observed are simply the results of exposure to UVB radiation.

The Killers Discuss New Album

The third disc from the Las Vegas group will be released in November.

Singer Brandon Flowers confirmed the album’s title to New Musical Express last week.  He also revealed the names of some of the CD’s tracks, including Goodnight, Travel Well, Joy Ride, Neon Tiger, I Can’t Stay and Losing Touch, which is one of the singer’s favourites.

Gwen Stefani Leaves the Hospital

The No Doubt star and her husband, Bush singer Gavin Rossdale, left Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles earlier today.

The proud parents returned home with their second son, Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale.  Neither star made any comments to the press, although Rossdale’s father told US Weekly, "Everyone is just so happy."

Stefani and Rossdale are also the parents of a two-year-old son, Kingston.

Leona Lewis and Anthony Kiedis Honoured

The PETA organisation, which rallies against the cruel treatment of animals, crowned the two stars following an Internet survey.

Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman, Anthony Kiedis, recently became a vegetarian after his doctor advised his son to follow a vegetarian regiment.

Leona Lewis has been a long-time vegetarian. Additionally, she is also committed to stand against animal cruelty. The singer, who released the album Spirit, does not wear any clothing, shoes or accessories made from animal skin.

Jenna Jameson Is Pregnant

The 34-year-old star confirmed the news to Us Magazine, announcing, “Yes, I can confirm I’m pregnant. It’s still early, so I’m being cautious. I’m resting as much as possible."

She adds, "I’m so happy! We are still in a state of shock."

The actress, who has been dating martial artist Tito Ortiz for two years, stated in May that she and her boyfriend wanted to start a family.

Despite the good news, Jameson has no intentions of marrying. She declared, "I think I’m gonna stay unmarried and just go for the babies! I’m following in Angelina’s footsteps!"
