Avril Goes Multilingual

The Canadian singer will travel to Europe starting on May 26.  During her tour she will visit England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, Belgium and Sweden.

Lavigne challenged herself to perform her hit Girlfriend hit each country’s official language.

In an interview with the Daily Star she said, "The song is really fast and, as other languages have more syllables than English, it will be really hard to do live."

Naomi Campbell Has Surgery

Over the weekend the British star was admitted to the Sírio Libanês Hospital, in São Paulo to have a cyst removed.

"Naomi Campbell was admitted to hospital  to have a small cyst removed," said a statement from her spokesman. "Following the successful procedure, she is now resting and is looking forward to getting back to work. She would like to thank the doctors who have kindly looked after her."

Jennifer Lopez Returns Home

The 38-year-old star was released from the North Shore University Long Island Hospital yesterday.

Lopez gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, on Friday.  The twins are her first children. Her husband, singer Marc Anthony, already has three children from previous relationships.

Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, a close friend of J. Lo, revealed to People magazine that the couple is delighted:  “[She] sounds very peaceful and happy and blissful, and told me, ‘I can’t take my eyes off of them.’”

Pamela Anderson Files for Divorce

The Canadian star has filed papers with the Los Angeles Superior Court to annul her marriage to Rick Salomon.

The ex Baywatch star cited "fraud” as the reason for the split after only two months of marriage.

Anderson and Salomon were married on October 6 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.  In December, signs indicated that the couple was already having some issues.

Anderson recently told Ellen DeGeneres that she worked out a deal with Salomon over a $250,000 gambling debt for certain favors:  “I paid off a poker debt with sexual favors, and I fell in love,” Anderson said. “It’s so romantic.”

Universal Confirms a Fourth Bourne Film

David Linde, co-president of Universal Pictures, has confirmed that a new Jason Bourne film is in the works.

During an interview with Variety, Linde added that Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass will return for the fourth installment.  No other details have been released regarding the project.  The last film of the series, The Bourne Ultimatum, earned three awards in technical categories at the Oscars ceremony which took place last Sunday.

Take That Works on Next Disc

It seems that a reunion of Take That is underway.  The four members have come together to record a new CD.

The group, who earned two BRIT awards last week, confirmed the news to the Daily Star, saying, "We’re starting to talk about another album. We’ll take a little break first, then probably take another break and then see where we go from there."

Take That rose to fame in Europe from 1991 until 1996.  The group split when Robbie Williams left to pursue a solo career.  Take That came back to the music scene in 2006 with the song Patience.

Two New Projects for Amy Winehouse

According to The Sun, the Grammy winner will meet with fashion experts later this week.  A friend of the singer told the paper, "Amy’s style has been copied by girls around the country and there’s a lot of money to be made. It’s a very distinctive look."

The source added, "She wants to bring out a range of cosmetics and fashion products. There could be hair spray, head scarves, liquid eyeliner, perfume. All the things that are distinctive of her look."

Ridley Scott Plans Ronald Reagan Film

The new project will take place in 1986 during Reagan’s presidency, when he was negotiating nuclear arms control with former Soviet leader, Mikhail Gorbachev.

During an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Scott said, "I want to show who they were and why they did what they did."

"Their actions helped shape history, paving the way for the end of the Cold War," said Sir Ridley, who reportedly plans to release the film in 2009.

Among other things, Ridley plans to show the summit between the two men that took place in Reykjavik, Iceland.  A visit to the actual site has already taken place by Scott and his crew.

For now, Ridley Scott’s last film, American Gangster, was nominated for two Oscar awards.  He will soon be releasing the film Body of Lies.  The thriller follows a journalist who is in pursuit of the men in control of Al-Qaeda.

Elton John Wants to Help Britney Spears

The British star confessed that he recently had a conversation with the American singer about her personal problems.  Elton John said that he talked to Spears at an Oscar party.  He said, "the only person that can help Britney is herself."

Elton John added, "I really feel for her. It’s horrible and I hope she comes through it. If I could do anything, I would."

For several months, Spears has been going through difficult times.  She is divorced, has lost the custody of her two sons, and has been dealing with addiction problems.

New Details About Madonna’s Next Disc

Danja, whose real name is Nate Hills, was directly involved with the production of the American singer’s 11th disc.  The producer also collaborated with his artistic mentor, Timbaland.

The two men worked together in the past to produce Justin Timberlake’s disc, FutureSex/LoveSounds.

During an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Danja explained, "She wanted up-tempo, dance, club music, and for everything to have a hip-hop underlining."

Madonna chose to work with Danja and Timbaland because she loves Timberlake’s CD.  Madonna’s next release will be available on April 28.
