From Singer to Designer

Madden, who is Nicole Richie’s boyfriend, has found a new passion.  The star is releasing his own childrens clothing collection called DCMA Collective.

With the new hobby, the rocker and the starlet may soon find their closets well stocked, particularly as Richie is pregnant with their first child.

Madden told People magazine, “I was inspired to make baby clothes because I’m excited to share something I love with my kid."

A portion of the profits earned from the DCMA Collective clothing collection will be given to the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation.  The clothing line will include sizes from birth to 12 months.

Rolling Stone Magazine Announces Favourites of 2007

According to the well-known American music magazine, 2007 was the year of Jay-Z.  The hip-hop star topped the list of 100 of the best songs of the past twelve months.

Jay-Z earned the top spot with his song Roc Boys.  Rolling Stone found that this star’s song was the best in 2007.  Veteran Randy Newman came in next on the list.  Newman, who shot to success in the 1970s, earned his spot on this year’s chart with the song A Few Words in Defense of Our Country.

The third spot is filled by singer Rihanna.  Her smash hit Umbrella brought the 19 year-old star from Barbados a year beyond all expectations.

Daniel Craig is Nervous

The 39-year-old actor spoke about his feelings to the New York Daily News. “I’m rehearsing now. The pressure is there. If I only make a couple of Bond films, I’d like to be able to look back on at least one of them and think: ’Oh, that was a good one’.”

The 22nd movie in the James Bond franchise will be in theatres in November 2008. It was directed by Marc Forster, who also directed Finding Neverland and Monster’s Ball.

Arctic Monkeys Working on Their Third Album

The group from Sheffield, is still on tour and would like to get into the studio after they have had the chance to get some rest.

Bass player, Nick O’Malley told the Daily Star his group’s intentions, "We’re thinking of calling it One Wacky Weekend."

Arctic Monkeys started in 2002, and are a successful independent British band. Their first album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, came out in January 2006 and has been the most rapidly selling British album in history.

In addition to receiving critical praise, the band received the Brit Award for Album of the Year in 2007.

New Series of The Saint

Simon Templair, known as the Saint, is is going to be coming back to television.

According to Dark Horizons, a pilot has been completed and is in the pre-production stage. The main character will be played by James Purefoy. The 43-year-old British actor is known for his work in Resident Evil, A Knight’s Tale and Lighthouse. He will be following in the footsteps of Roger Moore, Ian Ogilvy, Simon Dutton and Val Kilmer, who have played the Saint.

Filming will begin in April in Germany and Australia. This character was created in 1928 by Leslie Charteris, but the character became well-known in the sixties.

Hilary Duff Feels the Pressure

The star of the movie Lizzie McGuire told Access Hollywood that she felt a lot of pressure to watch her weight.

The 20-year-old actress explained, “In Hollywood there’s a lot of pressure, at least in the weight category. They say things like, ‘Oh my god, she has lost too much weight!’”

Duff has been in the spotlight since the age of 13. She is a confident young woman and is comfortable with her physical appearance. Duff revealed, “I work with a Pilates trainer. I am so bad at exercising outside of Pilates. It’s just not fun, it’s like I just can’t make myself go.”

George Clooney Defending Darfur

Hollywood star George Clooney has been very active in trying to stop the conflict in Sudan’s Darfur. He has now asked the UAE to get involved to stop the bloodshed.

Clooney visited Dubai to promote his movie, Michael Clayton. The 46-year-old actor asked the surrounding countries not to turn their backs on the war that has been going on in Africa for the last five years.

In a press conference, Clooney explained, "We are trying to find places (through which) we can have a real conversation with people in Sudan and President Omar al-Beshir. And obviously here (in the UAE) they have an influence."

Although Clooney’s efforts have not ended the conflict yet, his work has not gone unnoticed. Clooney will receive a Peace Summit Award this week in Rome.

The genocide war in Darfur has resulted in 200 000 victims and more than 2 million refugees.

Paris Hilton Doing Piano Lessons

The 26-year-old star decided to do piano lessons so that she can play this instrument for her next album.

Hilton started her musical career in 2006 and wants to be more involved in the music creation of her music.

She told ContactMusic, "This way, I can write my own music and have more control with others not pushing in."

The singer of the song Stars are Blind wrote five songs for the album Paris.

Amy Winehouse’s Mother Offers Her Help

Janis Winehouse, published a letter in the newspaper, News of the World. She wanted to show her daughter that she is available to help out.

Amy Winehouse’s mother wrote, "This letter is my way of making sure that you know that all you have to do is come to us, Amy, and we’ll do everything in our power to get you well again, After all, you are still my baby and you always will be."

This message was written because Amy Winehouse is going through a difficult time. Her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil is in prison, and Winehouse’s singing career has been rocky.

Natalie Portman Becomes a Director

The star of the films V for Vendetta and Star Wars, among others, has been hired to direct the film A Tale of Love and Darkness, according to Variety.

The story is based on the memoires of Amos Oz, which recounts his life growing up in Jerusalem.  No date has been announced for the beginning of production.

Portman will soon be seen in the films Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, The Other Boleyn Girl and My Blueberry Nights.
