Odell Beckham Jr.’s contract demands released

Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has yet to be signed by a team, despite having been linked to the Dallas Cowboys on multiple occasions last season. Meanwhile, he continues to draw interest from both New York professional teams in the Giants and Jets.

And while his initial contract demand was thought to be around $20 million per season, he’s allegedly lowered the reported asking price while still commanding a hefty compensation tag. According to Albert Breer, Beckham Jr. is looking for a one year pact worth $15 million:

Beckham, who underwent a private workout that caught the attention of several NFL teams recently, has hauled in 531 passes for 7,367 yards and 56 touchdowns over the course of his eight season career.

He sat out all last season while recovering from offseason ACL surgery.

Ezekiel Elliott rejected yet again

In case you haven’t heard, the Dallas Cowboys made the decision late last month to cut ties with former 1st round draft pick Ezekiel Elliott.

And while you’d think that Elliott would have no trouble finding a new team, there’s the uncomfortable fact that he’s been dealing with several injuries combined with his having posted career low numbers last season.

Elliott reportedly came up with a “wish list” of sorts that allegedly included the Philadelphia Eagles, the New York Jets and Cincinnati Bengals. However, both the Jets and Bengals have shown no interest in bringing aboard the former Ohio State Buckeye.

And now, you can add the Eagles to the list of teams who don’t sound open to the idea of signing Elliott. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said that his team was happy with his squad’s running back situation:

Will Zeke find a new home this year?

Texans angry at Cowboys over Brandin Cooks trade!

The Dallas Cowboys brought aboard some much needed offensive help in the form of wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who was acquired in a trade late last month with the Houston Texans in exchange for draft capital.

And the Texans, who have to share the Lone Star State with its main sports attraction in the Cowboys, don’t appear to be too pleased over Cooks departing their squad – especially to the in-state rival.

“It sucks losing a talented receiver like Brandin Cooks, so, we never wanted to lose talented players,” Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said of the Cooks trade to Dallas. “We’re really trying to acquire as many talented players as possible, so, it’s hard losing him.”

But in the meantime, Cooks isn’t worried at all about what his former franchise is thinking – he’s just ready to go to work with his new teammates.

“I couldn’t be more hungry,” Cooks said. “Last three years, it is what it is. But when you step into a locker room like this and an organization … I mean, it’s definitely fueling the fire and that hunger to be able to come out here and just show up and help my team win. I can’t wait, I truly can’t.”

Sounds like he’s happy to have jumped ship to the real football attraction in the great state of Texas! What kind of season will he enjoy in his debut campaign with the Cowboys?

Micah Parsons teased big change to Cowboys fans

The NFL recently introduced a rule that would allow players to wear the jersey number 0, and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons gave fans a bit of a scare when he teased that he could be changing from the jersey No. 11 that he’s worn so far in his productive career.

“Im switching!! Agent 0 coming soon!” Parsons initially tweeted.

However, it will be safety Jayron Kearse who gets to wear the number, and he made sure to let his teammate know about it on Twitter.

“Too late lol” Kearse replied in jest.

So car in his career, Parsons has earned two Pro Bowl selections, earned two First-Team All-Pro nods and won 2021 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Had Parsons in fact switched his number, he’d have been responsible for purchasing the remaining inventory of his current numbered jerseys, according to NFL rules.

Report: Aaron Rodgers blew off calls from Packers!

While we await the next step in the ongoing Aaron Rodgers saga, there’s been an incredible new development with the Green Bay Packers telling their side of the story. According to them, Rodgers completely blew them off this offseason!

According to Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst, his calls to Rodgers went unanswered while saying he attempted to reach out “many times”.

“Those never transpired,” Gutekunst explained from the NFL owners meetings in Phoenix.

“So we went through his representatives to try to talk to him (about) where were we going with our team,” Gutekunst added. “At that point, they informed us that he would like to be traded to the Jets.”

“Our inability to reach him or for him to respond in any way,” continued. “I think at that point, I had to do my job and kind of reach out (to other teams) and understand that a trade could be possible and see who was interested.”

Rodgers himself has not been shy about stating his desire to suit up for the New York Jets this season, but explained during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” that it was the Packers who were holding things up.

In the meantime, it certainly appears as though we’ve entered the official start of the Jordan Love era with the Packers.

JUST IN: Aaron Rodgers traded to Detroit Lions!

Aaron Rodgers is going to be staying in the NFC North Division after all! He was traded this afternoon to the rival Detroit Lions, ending speculation about his potentially joining the New York Jets! The move was announced by team management today during a press conference in…..

….okay, we’re just kidding. Happy April Fool’s Day!

Rodgers is still very much expected to eventually be wearing the green uniform of the Jets, with a deal to New York that “could happen as early as this week” according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer:

“I think it’ll happen sooner than people think because I don’t think things between the Packers and Jets are in nearly as bad a place as some seem to believe they are,” Breer wrote in his recent mailbag piece for SI. “We mentioned earlier in the week the rapport between GMs Joe Douglas and Brian Gutekunst from their time coming up as young road scouts. The two head coaches, Robert Saleh and Matt LaFleur, are best friends. So any raw feelings between Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, I think, are manageable, because of the relationships in place.”

Ben Roethlisberger coming out of retirement!

Move over, Kenny Pickett! Ben Roethlisberger announced minutes ago that he’s coming out of retirement for one last crack at bringing the Super Bowl to the Steel City! He made the announcement in a press conference at…..

…okay, we’re kidding. Happy April Fool’s Day!

Roethlisberger retired after a long and very fruitful NFL career, spending all 18 years of his NFL career wearing the black and yellow while leading his team to two Super Bowl wins. He’s also the franchise leader in wins with 165, home wins with 92, and passing touchdowns with 418.

However, he apparently did think about returning. He alluded to a potential comeback recently, saying that he’s thought about coming out of retirement not to rejoin Pittsburgh but to join the San Francisco 49ers, who had recently lost quarterback Jimmy Garappolo for the remainder of the year with an injury.

“I thought about it,” Roethlisberger said on his “Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger” podcast. “That team is one of the better teams in football and that defense is really stinking good and they did it with Purdy.”

JUST IN: Jerry Jones to sell the Cowboys!

Made you look! Happy April Fool’s Day!

As you may know, the Cowboys have been owned by Jerry Jones since his purchase of the franchise for $140 million from team owner and friend H.R. “Bum” Bright. Of course, the team is worth a bit more these days.

The Cowboys are currently valued at $6.5 billion, making them the most valuable sports franchise not only in the NFL, but in the entire world. And if Jones wanted to sell the team, he believes that he could net an even larger return. In fact, Jones believes that the Cowboys are worth up to $10 billion!

But even with the promise of an unbelievably massive profit, Jones announced late last year that he has absolutely no intention of selling the team that he’s been running for decades now.

“We used to have fans call in and I’d answer a question. I’d be mad too. I will tell you right now, the best way to get something done is to have [the question] come straight to me,” Jones said last year. “Those same fans know I’ll never sell this team. I sure would welcome the segment. I live with it every day. Let me say this, I’m so sensitive to our fans. I will tell you … you look around, and [see that] rehiring or shuffling out General Managers on top of shuffling out coaches — I haven’t seen that be the secret to success in the league.”

Israel Mukuamu has a message for Cowboys fans

After having played collegiate football at South Carolina, safety Israel Mukuamu was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys with their 6th round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. And while he’s not the flashiest player on the field, he’s proven himself to be an important part of the squad that regardless of what pundits say, has championship aspirations.

And according to the man himself, that’s exactly what they’re working towards. Mukuamu made an appearance on the “Pick 6 Sports” podcast on for an interview on Monday, during which he promised fans of the Cowboys that they’re working towards getting back to football’s ultimate glory.

“Cowboys Nation,” he said, “we [are] working to get y’all a Super Bowl. It’s gon’ come soon. Just be patient.”

Cowboys fans, it’s certainly been far too long since we’ve tasted the glory of winning the Super Bowl. How about finally getting it done next season?

Steelers get rave reviews for offseason moves

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been active this offseason as they work to make moves in order not only to give head coach Mike Tomlin a winning season, but to return to the postseason after having missed in 2022 for the first time in three years.

And seems as though pundits appreciate their moves, viewing them as positive for the team’s future prospects of success. According to FootballOutsiders.com, the Steelers have primed themselves for improvement in 2023 thanks to their additions by general manager Omar Khan, led by the acquisition of former Eagles guard Isaac Seumalo.

“Isaac Seumalo was the biggest name among interior offensive linemen in free agency, finishing with a 1.6% blown block rate on the highest snap count of his career. He posted the sixth-best blown block rate among guards with at least 1,000 snaps.”

Among the additional moves made by Khan include inking Patrick Peterson, Cole Holcomb and Elandon Roberts to contracts.

“With the core defensive personnel already in place, maintaining a strong supporting cast was a priority for Pittsburgh this offseason. Doing it for a combined 2023 cap hit of just under $5.5 million (per OverTheCap) is doing it with style points.”

Steelers fans, can you realistically expect a return to the postseason in the upcoming NFL season?
