Trump seemingly believes he was the President last fall after confusing statement about Lebanese pager attacks

The arguments about Bidens age and competence began quickly into his last Presidency, but what about Donald Trump?

The definition of auspices is support and approval. President Trump supported the action,

In a bizarre statement to TIME, Donald Trump seemingly claimed that he greenlit the deadly pager attacks in Lebanon on Sept 17 and 18, 2024.

They let me know everything [happening],

Confusing statements

TIME magazine sat down with President Donald Trump for an interview published on Thursday, October 23, to discuss his Gaza peace deal, meant to broker a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel’s defence forces (IDF), but has seemingly done little to stop the senseless murder in Palestine committed by the Israeli government.

During the interview, TIMEs’ reporter brought up attacks committed by Israel against the Lebanese group Hezbollah (a group funded by Iran, Syria, Lebanese diaspora, and in parts by Israel itself). Broaching the topic sparked Trump to blurt out a ‘fact’ that took the interviewer by surprise:

“All of those attacks were done under my auspices, you know, with Israel doing the attacks—with the pagers and all that stuff,” Trump, who was not the president at the time, but in the midst of his campaign against Joe Biden, told TIME. “They let me know everything [happening],”

He then added that “And sometimes I’d say no—and they’d be respectful of that.”

A deadly pager attack

It’s fairly clear that Trump was referring to the attack on Hezbollah in September, in which the IDF booby-trapped pagers used by the group. The attack, which seemed straight out of a special forces movie, killed at least 35 people, including children; thousands were injured alongside the deaths.

It was estimated that each of the rigged pagers had the strength of a hand grenade, meaning the vast majority of the injuries were to bystanders standing in the blast radius.

The first wave of pagers was detonated on September 17, with a second wave detonated the next day. The most egregious example being the detonation of a walkie-talkie during a funeral for four deceased bystanders from the previous day. The deceased being mourned included an 11-year-old child and a nurse, both bystanders.

The White House was seemingly forced to find some truth to the claim, stating, “The definition of auspices is support and approval. President Trump supported the action,”

Trump slammed over pardon of crypto criminal

It seems that Donald Trump can’t make anyone happy, not even his crypto friends that he’s been bending over backwards for.

“A lot of people say that he wasn’t guilty of anything.”

Trump’s recent pardoning of Binance founder and crypto guru Changpeng Zhao was met with immediate backlash from one of the President’s most prominent supporters, Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale.

“I love President Trump; this is possibly the greatest admin of my lifetime—except for these pardons.”

-Joe Lonsdale

Changpeng Zhao Arrest

In November 2023, Changpeng Zhao pled guilty to breaking the US Bank Secrecy Act after failing to monitor the transactions of users on his site, Binance.

Those failings allowed hundreds of millions of dollars to be fed through the site, funding drug deals, terrorism, child sex abuse, and human trafficking.

Federal prosecutors said they had never seen anyone violate the rules to the extent that Zhao did between 2017 and 2024. The case judge claimed to have been disturbed by Binance’s strategy of ignoring any US banking regulation that would stem the site’s growth.

Why was he pardoned?

When questioned, the President gave a slough of answers, from which allied and opposed media outlets could pick and choose which one aligned best with the story they’re spinning.

Trump claimed that what Zhao did was not a crime,

A lot of people say that he wasn’t guilty of anything.

He tried spinning the victim story for Zhao,

He served four months in jail, and they say that he was not guilty of anything.

He then seemed to excuse himself of any blame by placing it on an unnamed advisor, stating, “[I’ve] been told … that what he did is not even a crime”.

He then added that “I gave him a pardon at the request of a lot of very good people,” a statement every American should pay close attention to.

Trump claimed in 2024 that he would be the “first crypto president,” and America is already seeing what that looks like.

Joe Lonsdale Comments

Lonsdale posted on X shortly after the President pardoned Zhao on Thursday, stating, “I love President Trump; this is possibly the greatest admin of my lifetime—except for these pardons.”

He continued to say, “If I’m calling balls and strikes, these are hit-by-pitches! POTUS has been terribly advised on this; it makes it look like massive fraud is happening around him in this area.”

Once again, he deflects blame away from the president – placing it on advisors instead. He also makes sure to clarify that it only looks like fraudulent activity is surrounding the President’s crypto ventures.

Blatant financial fraud in the Oval Office?

Of course, it’s almost certain that the president is engaging in fraud.

Donald Trump was already found guilty on 34 counts of fraud before his crypto ventures.

Currently, the president has approximately $3.4 bn in Crypto, either attached to his fame or to the US economy itself. Trump also owns the marketplace; all of the tokens are sold and bought in, adding another layer of protection to the inner workings of the venture’s finances.

While a president selling what are essentially stocks related to his fame and the U.S. dollar is obviously a conflict of interest on many levels, the White House maintains that all actions are above board, with Karoline Leavitt claiming:

Neither the President nor his family have ever engaged, or will ever engage, in conflicts of interest.

In the pocket of crypto?

Donald Trump has received at least $41 million since January 2025 from crypto companies, making him the first successful fascist crypto-technocrat—an impressive achievement if you’re striving for the Orwellian Hall of Fame.

Binance has been banned from use in the US since Zhao’s conviction in 2023, but the door has now been opened for questions on whether or not its status will be reinstated.

On Thursday, Trump admitted that he didn’t know who Zhao was when he granted the pardon but instead acted on the advice of “a lot of very good people.”

Trump’s demented speech in Japan

If the president of the United States’ cognitive performance keeps you up at night, this one will keep you up till the weekend.

Donald Trump went on a demented speech in Japan on Monday, where he failed to understand his new fleet of aircraft carriers, steam technology, and the 2000-year-old technology of magnets.

The president was attempting to explain his views on America’s new fleet of aircraft carriers. The carriers have catapult systems that launch F-15s, as well as an advanced electromagnetic elevator used to move weaponry on deck. Both of these technologies reportedly cut preparation time in half.

So what are Trumps thoughts? Well it doesn’t seem like he’s a fan. On the subject of the advanced electromagnetic elevators, he said, “You know, the new thing is magnets. So instead of using hydraulic that can be hit by lightning and it’s fine. You take a little glass of water, you drop it on magnets, I don’t know what’s going to happen,”

Waterproof magnets

In case you were never a 10-year-old playing with fridge magnets, they’re not affected by water. Apparently, Trump hasn’t used a magnet in a couple of decades; he’s forgotten how they work.

He tried pushing on, attempting to find any sort of track to attach his wayward train of thought to.

So, you know, the elevators come up in the new carriers—I think I’m going to change it, by the way—they have magnets. Every tractor has hydraulic, every excavator, every excavating machine of any kind has hydraulic. But somebody decided to use magnets.

Trump didn’t just attack magnets, though; he also criticized the catapults used by the carriers.

“I’m going to sign an executive order. When we build aircraft carriers, it’s steam for the catapults and it’s hydraulic for the elevators. We’ll never have a problem.”

He then pointed out an apparent high-ranking general,

“He agrees. Everybody agrees. But, ahh, these people in Washington…”

The general’s silence echoed loudly.

Magnets are confusing

WASHINGTON, DC – OCTOBER 08: (EDITOR’S NOTE: Alternate crop) U.S. President Donald Trump reads a note handed to him by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio he said was regarding Middle East peace talks during a roundtable discussion in the State Dining Room of the White House on October 08, 2025 in Washington, DC. Trump’s administration held the roundtable to discuss the anti-fascist Antifa movement after signing an executive order designating it as a “domestic terrorist organization”. (Photo by Anna Moneymaker/Getty Images)

This is actually not Trump’s first time claiming that magnets are killed by water.

In January 2024, “Give me a glass of water, let me drop it on the magnets, that’s the end of the magnets.”

Nobody is quite sure just how long Trump’s battle against magnets has lasted, but his opinions are certainly set in stone. Magnets are weak and should not come into contact with water. One can only imagine where he got such an idea.

Cognitive decline?

All these comments come as speculation swirls about Trump’s cognitive ability.

Trump underwent a basic cognitive test in April 2025, Donald Trump completed the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a basic test used to gauge whether an elderly person’s cognitive ability has begun to decline.

The test asks respondents to draw a clock with a specific time, identify pictures of animals, remember a series of words, and count backwards by a specific number. According to the creators of the test, it is meant to detect mild cognitive impairment as early as possible, not to measure intelligence or IQ.

Russia tests scary new nuclear-powered missile

The Russian government have reportedly tested a new missile that seems straight out of a science fiction movie.

The announcement, released on Sunday by President Vladimir Putin, confirmed that Russia had completed a successful test with the ‘Burevestnik’ missile in Novaya Zemlya—a high-tech long-range cruise missile powered by a nuclear engine.

the missile would be impervious to any defense system on the globe, due to the almost unlimited range and unpredictable flight path it possesses

The announcement is another example in a long line of behaviour meant to instill nuclear fear into the hearts of Western countries.

The ‘Burevestnik’

There is little information about the missile that was tested, as is expected for a Kremlin project.

Russia began the invention of the Burevestnik (nicknamed the ‘Skyfall missile’ by NATO) in 2018, initially labelling the missile as a ‘hypersonic weapon with infinite range.”

Putin added that the missile would have “unlimited range, allowing it to circle the globe undetected by missile defense systems,”

The missile travelled 14,000 kilometres (8,700 miles) during the test on October 21, spending more than 15 hours in the air using nuclear power.

The Kremlin leader also claimed that the missile would be impervious to any defense system on the globe, due to the almost unlimited range and unpredictable flight path it possesses.

It’s important to note that this missile is not a nuclear bomb, but an explosive powered by a nuclear engine. Still, Western experts have been skeptical, claiming that a nuclear-powered engine could be highly unreliable.

The Burevestnik suffered one explosion during testing in 2019. The explosion killed at least seven people, including five engineers and two service members. The blast also triggered a radiation spike, sparking widespread fear in a nearby city.

The Kremlin never officially identified that the Burevestnik was the weapon involved in the 2019 accident, but the U.S. government claimed it was.

A successful test

(Photo by Sergei SUPINSKY / AFP) (Photo by SERGEI SUPINSKY/AFP via Getty Images)

Kirill Dmitriev, a Putin aide living in the U.S., said his delegation confirmed the successful test and informed U.S. government staffers.

…a successful test [of an] absolutely new class of weapon.

Kirill Dmitriev

While Russia has been heralding this incredible advance in technology, some experts are skeptical of how useful the missile really is.

Pavel Podvig, a senior researcher at the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research, told NBC News that, “The main reason that no one else has tried to build something like this is that it doesn’t really have any use,”.

According to Podvig, the weapon is actually largely political, a gesture meant to flex Russia’s impressive nuclear technology program.

The engine of the Burevestnik missile is essentially a mini nuclear reactor, heating the air around it to over 3000 degrees Fahrenheit, propelling a ramjet engine for days, in theory.

What isn’t clear is the destructive capabilities of this weapon. Experts do not know the exact kind of explosive used, and they have not ruled out the possibility of the Burevestnik carrying nuclear warheads.

A response to the U.S.

Some experts read the Russian announcement as political response, responding to the U.S.A.’s recent announcement of its own ‘Golden Dome’ missile defense system. The Kremlin specified in its announcement that the missile would be undetectable by any missile defence system.

Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov seemed to imply that the test may have also been a response to the new sanctions this month from the European Union and the U.S., citing:

Ensuring security is a vital issue for Russia, especially given the militaristic sentiment we are currently hearing primarily from Europeans,

And then adding “Despite all our openness to establishing a dialogue with the United States, Russia, first of all, and the president of Russia, is guided by our own national interests,”

Proof of frivolity

The Burevestnik is reportedly supposed to be a second-strike missile, used in the event of a nuclear attack on Russia. The only problem? According to Pavel Podvig, any nuclear attack on Russia would almost certainly begin by targeting the very military base that houses the Burevestnik launch pads, thus making it an expensive waste of time.

Western experts (Podvig among them) also claim the missile would be detected during its ‘potentially infinite’ flight.

Gavin Newsom rips Trump over bonkers military plan

It looks like somebody has finally said what millions of Americans think every day.

The U.S. Marines released a statement in the middle of the night on Wednesday, stating that an Expedition Force would be performing a “live-fire Amphibious Capabilities Demonstration at Red Beach, Camp Pendleton” to mark the Marines’ 250th anniversary on November 9, just three weeks from now.

The demonstration, aimed to showcase America’s readiness to “defend the Homeland,” apparently went through a “detailed risk assessment”, but the office of the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, came out with a different report.

Newsom’s office claimed the demonstration would involve the firing of live explosive rounds from Navy warships over the I-5, a highway that serves over 80,000 commuters per day, and into Camp Pendleton. The military could reportedly choose to close large swaths of the highway for the demonstration, thus not endangering thousands of lives, but only inconveniencing them for the sake of… glory?

Newsom’s comments

Gov. Gavin Newsom didn’t mince words on the topic. In fact, he even Tweeted in a language that Trump could understand, stating in all-caps, “PUT ASIDE YOUR VANITY PARADE AND PAY OUR TROOPS INSTEAD”.

Newsom’s office also claimed that it had received little to no information about implemented safety measures or information regarding coordination for the launch. The missile launch, scheduled for November 9, gives California little time to find a solution for the endless list of problems associated with the demonstration.

As one of the few Democrats consistently releasing effective communication opposing the GOP, Newsom focused on the deeper issues the demonstration unearths, namely, the mistreatment of American veterans.

Conflicting statements

WASHINGTON, DC – OCTOBER 01: U.S. Vice President JD Vance takes questions from reporters during the daily press briefing in the Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House on October 01, 2025 in Washington, DC. Vance joined White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to discuss the federal government shutdown, after Congress and the White House failed to reach a funding deal by the October 1 deadline and halted U.S. government services for the first time in nearly seven years. (Photo by Alex Wong/Getty Images)

California Department of Transportation spokesman Edward Barrera said that, due to “potential scenarios shared with us by the federal government,” his agency is preparing to shut down parts of I-5 between Orange and San Diego counties for the exercise, not wanting live missiles to be fired over the heads of unsuspecting California residents.

Strangely, the vice president doesn’t seem to be concerned about that aspect of the drill, with William Martin, a spokesperson, denying the claim, calling it “fake news.” I suppose the VP doesn’t see an issue with firing live missiles over a busy highway.

Somehow, there is a clear divide between the State of California and the far-right GOP. A senior state transportation official said in an interview with MeidasTouch “Closing down a critical corridor during a shutdown, for a vanity event, without even consulting state authorities? It’s indefensible.”

The State of California seems to be on the same page about this issue: endangering, or even inconveniencing citizens, is not worth the flexing of a few missiles to celebrate.

3 arrested under suspicion of spying for Russia

Three British men were arrested on Thursday, October 23, by the British Police, under suspicion of spying for Russia. The men, aged 44, 45, and 48, were detained at personal addresses in west and central London.

All three men were arrested on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence group, thus enabling UK police to use section 3 of the National Security Act (NSA), 2023, making them eligible for up to 14 years in prison, a fine, or both.

A recent flare of arrests

These arrests come after two men and a woman were arrested in Essex on suspicion of spying for Russia last month.

We’re seeing an increasing number of who we would describe as ‘proxies’ being recruited by foreign intelligence services and these arrests are directly related to our ongoing to efforts to disrupt this type of activity.

-Dominic Murphy, Head of the Counter Terrorism Policing London.

In May, six Bulgarian men were arrested for spying for the Kremlin in the UK and across Europe.

In July, three men were found guilty of an arson attack on Ukraine-linked businesses in east London last year. The coordinated attack was reportedly ordered by Russian mercenary group Wagner, according to prosecutors.

The leader of that group, Dylan Earl, was the first person to be arrested under the new directive of Section 3 of the NSA, 2023.

M15 security director Ken McCallum claimed last week that Russia is committed to “creating havoc and destruction.”

He also stated that “In the last year, we and the police have disrupted a steady stream of surveillance plots with hostile intent aimed at individuals Russian leaders perceive as their enemies,”

On their part, the Kremlin have denied any accusations that it has been connected to British sabotage, claiming that the UK blames Russia whenever something “bad” happens in the Kingdom.

Commander Dominic Murphy, Head of the Counter Terrorism Policing London, stated on Thursday:

Anyone who might be contacted by and tempted into carrying out criminal activity on behalf of a foreign state here in the UK should think again.

National Security Act, 2023

The National Security Act of 2023 was created to help protect the UK against foreign espionage by increasing the government’s power of investigation and litigation.

The act received Royal Assent in July 2023 and introduced a number of new offences that individuals, organizations, and government workers could be charged with.

The Act also outlined a new penalty of up to 14 years in prison or a fine (or both).

The section used in this case was Section 3, “assisting a foreign intelligence service”.

UK corporations and executives have criticized the act, which carries multiple sections targeting those groups’ use of information.

Trump is trying to trick you into thinking Joe Biden was president in 2020

It’s no mystery that 2020 was arguably the most difficult one-year period for Americans in the last decade. COVID, lockdowns, vaccines, the rise of American fascism, an attack on the Capitol, and a country-wide recession that saw hundreds of thousands of Americans fall into poverty.

Nearly all of this happened under the eye of Donald J. Trump, but recently he and his allies have been set on convincing the American public that Biden was actually in charge.

That’s right, the president of the United States is attempting to rewrite history that’s just 5 years old.

Trump’s nearly nonsensical post on Saturday, October 11, was a stark example of disinformation that would make George Orwell pale.

THE BIDEN FBI PLACED 274 AGENTS INTO THE CROWD ON JANUARY 6… If this is so, which it is, a lot of very good people will be owed big apologies.

This is a blatant and dangerous lie meant to fool millions of Americans. There is an overwhelming preponderance of evidence stating the opposite. Firstly, Trump’s own yes-man, Kash Patel, acting as FBI director, said himself that the plainclothes agents were deployed after the riot began, to deal with the situation. This is in direct opposition to what Trump is insinuating in his post.

Plenty of Trump allies have tried to make his statement into a coherent truth, but even the experts at finding truths where there are none are struggling to justify this rambling nonsense.

The 2020 ‘fraudulent’ census

This example of an attempted rewriting of history isn’t the first of its kind. A number of GOP politicians have recently claimed that the 2020 census was fraudulent and a result of Biden’s incompetence.

“The 2020 Census was a fraud,”

The 2020 census was performed under Donald Trump, not Joe Biden.

Sen. Jim Banks of Indiana claimed on October 6 that the census was fraudulent, “The Biden admin used a shady ‘privacy’ formula that scrambled the data and miscounted 14 states.”

Vice President JD Vance has also piled on to the easily debunked statements, stating that the census had apparently undercounted red states, “they have tried to rig the game for Democrats and against Republicans.”

A short list of baseless accusations

WASHINGTON, DC – MARCH 7: U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) squeezes by Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) ahead of the annual State of the Union address by President Joe Biden during a joint session of Congress in the House chamber at the Capital building on March 7, 2024 in Washington, DC. This is Biden’s final address before the November general election. (Photo by Shawn Thew-Pool/Getty Images)

Somehow, even though all of this information is incredibly available, the Trump administration has made at least 5 statements implying Biden was the president in 2020. Here’s a shortlist, with a fact check included underneath each false claim.

July 6, 2025: Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent – “The democratic party blew out the deficit in 2020.”
In 2020, Donald Trump had veto power over any spending, and the GOP controlled the Senate.

February 7, 2023: Lauren Boebert on the closure of schools during the pandemic – “Hey Joe, YOU CLOSED THEM!”
School closures during COVID were controlled largely by state and local officials, and the vast majority of them happened during Trump’s term.

February 28, 2023: Marjorie Taylor Greene on fentanyl deaths – “Listen to this mother, who lost two children to fentanyl poisoning, tell the truth about both of her son’s murders because of the Biden administrations refusal to secure our border and stop the Cartel’s from murdering Americans everyday by Chinese fentanyl,” Once again, Joe Biden was not the president at the time of these deaths making it unlikely for him to have had control over the border.

Not a new narrative

Trump himself has consistently played into this false narrative. Last year, Trump accused Biden of suppressing the ‘Hunter Biden laptop story’ ahead of the 2020 election. How Biden could have suppressed White House communication during the Trump presidency is a mystery to us.

In fact, in an impressively daring move, Trump actually tried to convince people Biden was responsible for violence in 2020, DURING TRUMPS OWN TERM. His office ran an ad titled “Joe Biden’s America”, where he portrayed moments of violence from summer 2020, and laid the blame on Biden’s shoulders.

It should be clear by now. Trump apparently has no respect for the intelligence of his voters. In fact, he doesn’t even think they’re capable enough to remember what happened just 5 years ago. It’s hard to see this behaviour from the president, and not draw comparisons to ‘1984’, Soviet Russia, and Communist China. Apparently, if Trump had things his way, he would be the source of fact, fiction, and history. The only question is whether the GOP and the MAGA voter base will allow it to happen.

Bonkers heist at the Louvre: Here’s what is still missing

In a story that feels more like a movie than real life, 8 pieces of historical French royal jewelry were stolen in a daytime heist at the Louvre on Sunday morning.

In a robbery that lasted less than 7 minutes, the perpetrators used a basket lift to scale the façade, before forcing open a window and breaking display cases that housed the priceless artifacts, shocking people across France.

How can they ride a lift to a window and take jewels in the middle of the day?

The thieves then escaped via motorcycle, but not before unsuccessfully trying to set fire to the basket lift they used to gain entry to the building.

What we know

Shortly after the Louvre opening on Sunday morning, a basket lift was parked along the Seine-facing wall of the Louvre.

At 9:30AM, a window was forced in by ‘several’ individuals, using a disc cutter to cut open panes.

Once inside, thieves targeted the Apollon Gallery, where the Crown Jewels, and the royal collection is held. The interlopers smashed multiple display cases, grabbing the priceless artifacts.

Once the cases were smashed, security was notified via alarm and the intruders fled via motorcycle. There was attempt to set fire to the basket lift used, but it was prevented by a staff member. One thief did leave behind a reflective vest, and the group left behind some of the equipment utilized.

“What is certain is that we have failed, since people were able to park a furniture hoist in the middle of Paris, get people up it in several minutes to grab priceless jewels, giving France a terrible image,”

The entire heist was completed in less than 7 minutes, according to officials, making an impressive-enough heist for Hollywood to call back George Clooney.

What was taken

STEPHANE DE SAKUTIN/AFP via Getty Images

According to officials, the thieves targeted 9 items but only escaped with 8. According to Frances cultural minister, these items remain missing:

  • The Tiara from the jewelry set of Queen Marie-Amélie and Queen Hortense.
  • The necklace from the sapphire jewelry set of Queen Marie-Amélie and Queen Hortense.
  • An earring, part of a pair from the sapphire jewelry set of Queen Marie-Amélie and Queen Hortense.
  • A brooch known as the reliquary brooch.
  • The Tiara of Empress Eugénie.
  • The Large bodice knot (brooch) of Empress Eugénie.
  • Emerald necklace from the Marie-Louise set.
  • Pair of emerald earrings from the Marie-Louise set.

One item was recovered inside of the building, the crown of Napoleon III’s wife, Empress Eugénie, apparently worth tens of million of Euros.

“It’s worth several tens of millions of euros — just this crown. And it’s not, in my opinion, the most important item,” the Drouot auction house president Alexandre Giquello told Reuters.

According to Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau, she was surprised that the Regent diamond was not targeted, a jewel valued at over 60 million Euro.

Overworked and understaffed

FRANCE – JULY 01: The Hidden Side Of The Louvre On January 7Th, 2000 In Paris, France. The Grande Galerie (Photo by Gilles BASSIGNAC/Gamma-Rapho via Getty Images)

The incident is a realization of a larger issue facing the Louvre: an increase of tourism paired with staffing shortages. In June, staff engaged in a walkout to protest what they described as overcrowding and chronic understaffing. The walkout resulted in the Louvre delaying its opening that day.

Unions claim that overcrowding results in too few eyes on too many rooms, and that clashing routes between guests, construction personnel, and freight employees leave gaping holes in the Louvres security. The Louvre sees almost 9 million guests each year.

France’s justice minister made no excuses for the failings of security, stating to France Inter radio that “What is certain is that we have failed, since people were able to park a furniture hoist in the middle of Paris, get people up it in several minutes to grab priceless jewels, giving France a terrible image,”

According to police, the thieves were unarmed but threatened at least one staff member with an angle grinder.

Recovery may be difficult

According to multiple experts, there is little to no chance of recovering these treasures. The most likely fate for these historical items will be a cutting, reshaping, and reselling as raw stones and gold.

This is not the first time a successful heist has been managed at the Louvre. The Mona Lisa was famously stolen in 1911 by an Italian decorator who worked at the museum.

Sunday’s heist was the first in the 21st century, with the last coming in 1998, when a painting by Camille Corot was successfully taken and not recovered.

Donald Trump is raking in cash with crypto

Donald Trump has been quietly raking in billions of dollars in cryptocurrency with meme coins, NFT’s, and a crypto marketplace. It’s always been obvious that Trump’s political goals are almost entirely financial, and his newest venture is reportedly confirming this feeling.

Crypto companies donated at least $41 million since January to Trump’s political action committee to help elect pro-crypto congresspeople

$TRUMP, $MELANIA, and USD1 were released in early 2025, immediately gaining mass wealth.

Now according to the Wall Street Journal, Trump’s meme coins have created over $5 billion of wealth, on paper.

The ‘on paper’ part is important here; meme coins have a history of collapsing overnight.

But, when they do, it’s almost always to the benefit of the coins owner, not the individual investors.

The first ‘crypto president

A representation of TrumpCoin cryptocurrency is displayed on a mobile phone for illustration photo. Krakow, Poland on Januar 20th, 2025 (Photo by Beata Zawrzel/NurPhoto via Getty Images)

Some forgot that Trump ran on calling himself the “first crypto President”. At the time, the statement went forgotten by the vast majority of people (how could it not?), but clearly he was serious, and it’s working. Right now, Trump has a plethora of digital crypto content.

The ‘holdings’ even include digital trading cards featuring Trump wearing a superhero’s cape…

If I am elected, it will be the policy of my administration, United States of America, to keep 100% of all the bitcoin the U.S. government currently holds or acquires into the future,

-Donald Trump

Other holdings include multiple meme coins ($TRUMP, $MELANIA), ‘Stablecoins’ (coins tied to the US dollar like USD1), and a variety of other tokens.

The real kicker, though, is that all of these coins and tokens are being traded on a marketplace owned by the Trump family.

All of these assets are bought, sold, and monitored on World Liberty Financial, a marketplace created by Trump’s sons.

Trump’s second-born, Eric, commented on the evaluations of the asset, claiming that the total was “probably more” in an interview with The Financial Times. He also went on social media, stating:

“We’re setting a new standard for financial freedom; built on trust, speed, and U.S. values,” and then bragging:

“This is a huge moment for the future of money!”

40 million Americans are living in poverty

All of this comes when more than 40 million Americans are living in poverty.

One wonders how long it will take for that $5 billion to trickle down…

Pivoting till the cows come home

Donald Trump’s list of full-on failures outweighs his successes tenfold, and since being elected, that track record has somehow not improved.

This shift to crypto represents another pivot in a long line of desperate attempts to grow his wealth and keep his businesses afloat.

One of Trump’s original presidential ventures was Truth Social and the Trump Media & Technology Group. That attempt lost $401 million in 2024, before shifting its assets to crypto in 2025.

According to mandatory financial disclosures, Trump now holds roughly 15.75 billion WLFI tokens worth more than $3.4bn, making crypto the most significant source of his fortune and overshadowing his wealth tied up in shadily-purchased property (see property purchases in Qatar, Dubai, Israel, etc).

Lawmakers in bed with crypto

While a president selling what are essentially stocks related to his fame and the U.S. dollar is obviously a conflict of interest on many levels, the White House maintains that all actions are above board, with Karoline Leavitt claiming:

“Neither the President nor his family have ever engaged, or will ever engage, in conflicts of interest”.

In May, Donald Trump Jr. told the audience of a bitcoin conference in Las Vegas that policymakers in charge of crypto regulations were now “invested in [crypto] themselves.”

He went on to brag about how this will “bode very well for the community”.

To prove their loyalty to the newly-found technocrat, crypto companies donated at least $41 million since January to Trump’s political action committee to help elect pro-crypto congresspeople, and it’s only October!

More than 40 percent of Trump supporters said they had not heard of Trump’s meme coin or the family crypto platform.

A third of Americans believe that Donald Trump has not financially benefited from his presidency at all.

Report: Trump accidentally posts private message to Pam Bondi on Truth Social for all to see

In a moment that either confirms President Donald Trump’s impressive tech skills or showcases his staff’s utter incompetence; a private message intended for Attorney General Pam Bondi was publicly posted to the President’s Truth Social account on September 20, 2025.

Trump believed he had sent Bondi the message directly, addressing it to ‘Pam,’ and was surprised to learn it was public.

The message, in which Trump pushes Bondi to seek legal action against his political rivals, re-entered the news cycle after multiple agencies, including NBC and the Wall Street Journal, reported that Trump had intended for the message to be private. The President was reportedly “surprised” when he found out the post was public hours later.

An undemocratic directive

Trump’s post certainly displays his incompetence, but it also displays the strategies he’s used since being elected. Trump’s message was long and referenced multiple talking points that have populated GOP politics since 2016.

[it’s the] same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam “Shifty” Schiff, Leticia??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done.

Trump mentions by name three people he views as political opponents, clamouring that ‘something must be done’ about them.

Midway through the message, Trump mentions Erik Siebert (though not by name), claiming he had a ‘GREAT CASE’ to fire him.

He even lied to the media and said he quit, and that we had no case. No, I fired him, and there is a GREAT CASE, and many lawyers, and legal pundits, say so.

He finished the message by mentioning Lindsey Halligan, his newest nominee for U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. Halligan has no experience in legal prosecution and acted as one of Trump’s personal attorneys in 2022. She was named a special assistant to the president and White House senior associate staff secretary in January 2025 and served in that role until her appointment in Virginia.

The message confirmed what many have feared: that Donald Trump’s cabinet is defined by incompetence, punctuated and perpetrated by juvenile and vindictive ideologies being projected by the President.

Trump was surprised to learn he had actually posted the message to his Truth Social account, the president reacted by saying ‘Oh,’ and then tried to shrug it off

For those used to watching political fiction like ‘Veep’ and ‘The West Wing’, and ‘House of Cards’ this report shows us a fun house mirror of American politics; one where politicians in charge are no longer scrambling to manipulate their constituents, but instead feel so powerful that they can ‘shrug off’ a blunder that would be embarrassing to a high-schooler, much less the leader of the ‘free world’. The only difference between this and your favourite piece of fiction? This incompetence carries real-world consequences.

Once upon a time, the President was concerned about his image. Of course, that was when America was led by someone who understood how mirrors work. Now, the Trump administration seemingly thinks it can do no wrong; shamelessly lying to the press, lying on social media, and lying in its own reports. Additionally, the Trump administration is actively working to silence institutional media through discreditation, perpetuating a river of disinformation that American voters are wading through.

The result is an ecosystem where voters are left gasping for both air and information, being misled by a government that only seeks to benefit itself.
