Avon is not winded, despite the harsh times of the global economic crisis, FashionMag reported. The cosmetics sales giant announced the hiring of 7 000 new salespersons in Australia.
The company indicated that this phenomenon is due to people searching for new ways to overcome the recession with alternative revenues, which may explain the rising number of sales recruits for the beauty brand.
Michaela Groves, director of public relations, said that "three percent of Avon representatives are men, mainly drawn to the prospect of having a job, even if it’s in a field traditionally reserved for women."
