Despite recent rumours spreading that Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley are having troubles in the marriage department, MTV.com reports that the couple is doing very well.
A statement released on the Sum 41 MySpace page on Tuesday (October 14) claims that the rumours are completely false.
The buzz began to circulate following a story published in the National Enquirer, saying that the two singers were having difficulties in their marriage.
Although Whibley’s post didn’t directly go into detail about the National Enquirer’s insinuations, he did question the source’s credibility.
"I’m actually very surprised that so many media outlets picked this story up. Since when did the National Enquirer become a trust worthy news source?" he wrote.
Lavigne and Whibley were wed in July 2006.
