Bad news for Bret Michaels

The singer suffers a minor setback on his road to recovery.

People reports that Bret Michaels got some more bad news as he starts a long and difficult recovery after a brain hemorrhage.

His rep reveals that the singer was diagnosed with hyponatremia. This is a side effect from that hemmorhage. Tests show there is a lack of sodium in the body which can lead to seizures.

The spokesperson says, "Michaels remains under 24-hour observation in the ICU and is in positive spirits. He is responding well to tests and treatments. Even though today was a minor setback, doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery."

The 47-year old musician is conscious but remains in critical but stable condition. Other tests are being performed to determine the exact cause of this hemmorhage.

The Poison singer was rushed to the emergency last Friday (April 23) complaining of a bad headache.

He has had a series of accidents. He was injured during the Tony Awards in 2009. He was in a car accident in July of that same year when a car collided with his tour bus.
