Barbie dolls have been around for more than 50 years and continue to inspire fashion designers. Most recently, Christian Louboutin has decided to create more shoes for Barbie.
Last November 30, Louboutin unveiled his shoe collection created exclusively for Barbie’s 50th birthday.
The Barbie Christian Louboutin shoe collection had four pairs of shoes and was designed in the legendary Barbie Pantone 219 Pink.
Louboutin said, "Barbie needs to wear great shoes because every girl needs to wear great shoes. I guess I always had a little ‘girlie side’ who liked Barbie."
This time around, Barbie gets to wear shoes from Louboutin’s 2010 Spring/Summer collection, including his famous knee-high fringed boots. Louboutin cannot contain his excitement, "Barbie is an icon; how could I resist such a collaboration?"
This new Barbie shoe collection by Louboutin will be available on Net-a-porter on March 3. Net-a-porter founder Natalie Massenet said, "We are so in love with all things Louboutin and are incredibly excited about going global with a second red-soled Barbie.
