Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen take a road trip
Award-winning actress and singer Barbra Streisand, 68, and Canadian funnyman Seth Rogen, 28, have signed on to co-star in the road-trip comedy My Mother’s Curse, reports Variety.
Inspired by a trip he made with his mother, the script was written by Dan Fogelman (Cars). It’s the story of a young inventor who invites his mother on a cross-country road trip with a secret plan to reunite her with a long-lost love. At the same time, the mother’s hope is to help her son overcome his “curse” – for which she blames herself– of non-commitment in relationships.
Directed by Anne Fletcher (The Proposal), filming will begin this spring. Rogen, Streisand and Fogelman will also be executive producers of the film along with David Ellison.
Streisand most recently reprised her role of Roz Focker in Little Fockers, and she is also in negotiations regarding Gypsy, a biopic about American burlesque star, Gypsy Rose Lee.
Rogen will be voicing two animated films in the near future, the first is Paul coming to theatres March 18, and the second is Kung Fu Panda 2 due on May 27. Currently in post-production, he helped produce and stars in Live With It slated for release on September 23.
