Affleck will re-write and direct the film The Town for Warner Bros., in addition to playing the lead role, reports Variety.
The Town is an adaptation of the Chuck Hogan novel, "The Prince of Thieves."
In the film, Affleck will play a professional thief who falls for the female manager of the bank he is targeting.
The Town will be produced by Graham King through his company, GK Films. The story is set in Charlestown, Massachusetts.
This is not Affleck’s first time to direct a film. He wrote and directed the 2007 film Gone Baby Gone.
Fans of the star can next see him in February, when he stars in the film He’s Just Not That Into You. The film also stars Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Scarlett Johansson and Drew Barrymore.
