Movieline confirmed that del Toro is set to play a minor role in Coppola’s film Somewhere, starring Stephen Dorff, Elle Fanning and Chris Pontius.
The news was revealed by the band Rooney, whose singer, Robert Schwartzman, is Coppola’s cousin. On their blog, the members mentioned that they were going to appear in Somewhere. They wrote that they spent the day hanging out with stars on the set, including Benicio del Toro. After this revelation, the news was confirmed.
Dorff plays a bad boy client of the Chateau Marmont hotel who receives a visit from his daughter (Fanning). Del Toro stars as a client who gets into a conflict with Dorff’s character.
In the meantime, we can see del Toro in The Wolf Man, opening November 6.
