Iconic Beverly Hills 90210 star Shannen Doherty has died after years of battling cancer, People has confirmed.

« It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. She has lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease, » confirmed Doherty’s longtime publicist.

The star had first been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.

In 2017, Doherty revealed that her breast cancer had returned after a remission.

She will have proved an example of courage and hope for all those battling the disease over the years.

Shannen Doherty was 53 years old.
